Bay State Pest Control has worked out of the same Wakefield address for close to three decades. Its Better Business Bureau file puts incorporation in 1997 and lists a dozen employees, which makes it one of the older independent exterminators north of Boston. The work is ordinary residential pest control. Its Porch listing at 25 Francis Ave names ants, bedbugs, bees and wasps, and animal removal — the calls a homeowner makes when something is nesting where it shouldn't be. The BBB grades the company A+, and that same page notes it is not a BBB accredited business, which is a choice about membership rather than a mark against the work. The customer side is where this gets thin. The single review shown on the BBB page is sharply negative, and neither listing carries a star rating. One unhappy account is not a pattern, but it is the only firsthand voice either page shows, so ask for a few recent local references — ideally for the same kind of job you need — before you book. The two listings also disagree on how long the company has been at it: BBB counts 29 years, Porch says 32. Worth a direct question if longevity matters to you.
