BC Electric holds 4.7 stars from 60 Google ratings, and says on its website that it has been in business 43 years. A Maine electrician licence, number MS60014942, held by Robert L. Carlson Jr, is active on the state registry. A recent customer said Cyrus added a circuit in the garage and troubleshot exterior landscaping lights that had stopped working, and got both resolved. A recent customer with a baking business said Rob and his team came within a few days to repair kitchen wiring a previous handyman had not done properly or to code, and that within 4 hours everything was rewired, on dimmers, on boxes and on separate breakers. A recent customer said the job was started a few days after meeting Rob and finished in one day. A 2026 customer said two high old lights were taken down and replaced with two antique crystal chandeliers. In a 2024 review, a customer said BC Electric had installed their Generac generator five years earlier and serviced it every year. A 2023 customer said Rob Carlson walked them by phone through restarting a Generac generator that failed to start automatically after the house lost power in a nor'easter. A 2025 customer said Cyrus installed a 240 amp outlet to power a new stove. A 2025 customer said Doug and Ben installed a new outlet in the bathroom of a quirky old house. One recent customer alleged poor workmanship, no written contract and billing for hours not worked and materials never provided, and wrote that the work by Bob Carlson's team resulted in ten electrical code violations documented by the Maine Board of Electricians; that customer said the invoices were contested in small claims court. A 2025 customer said a generator, extended warranty and service upgrade paid for in January 2025 had not been started by March, when they were told the job had slipped through the cracks; that 2025 customer said the work was completed in April but brought multiple incorrect invoices, and that five months later the extended warranty had still not arrived. A 2025 customer praised the work but called the responsiveness to questions very frustrating. In a 2022 review, a customer said their faulty 220 and 240 were fixed the day after they called, and that the cost came in above the estimate, which did not include labor.
“BC Electric from Lincolnville goes out there.”
Phenomenal experience with Cyrus this morning. Took on one small project (adding a circuit in the garage) and troubleshooting exterior landscaping lights that had stopped working. Got both resolved quite readily, and was personable, informative and all around professional throughout. Could not more highly recommend.
I was very impressed by their prompt service, their respect for my home, and the way they discussed the options with me.
Wonderful team. Start to finish was professional, courteous, on time and good value for money. I highly recommend Rob and his crew.
