Blue Rock Industries describes itself on Houzz as a countertop, tile and flooring company in Westbrook, Maine that started as a small contractor in 1920. Its website says it has been in business 40 years. In a 2015 review, a kitchen and bath business said Dave Lamp and the crew handled the selection, fabrication and installation of countertops for the reviewer's clients, and that the two had worked together for six years. A 2015 reviewer said Dave Lamb and the staff installed a granite counter top in the reviewer's showroom, with an extra deep overhang on the seating side, a softly curved end and a traditional edge detail. A 2017 customer in Camden, Maine said a counter top was installed out of level on level kitchen cabinets, and later noticed a damaged corner on the slab used for an island they added. A 2021 customer said that after paying in full under a contract promising a remnant slab for a shower within 14 days, they still had not received it when they wrote, and were requesting a refund through their credit card company.
“A New Hampshire company has purchased the Westbrook Quarry from long-time owners Blue Rock Industries.”
“Blue Rock Industries has opened a three-story product showroom at its Westbrook headquarters, a project that cost just over $3.5 million.”
I went into this store and picked out a piece of slab out of remnants for our shower in a bathroom I am renovating in the month if November. We dealt with the store manager David. Our contractor was in contact with him for dimensions. Our contractor told us David was very short with him and caused about a week of delay going back and forth. We had signed a contracted by December 4th and paid in full. The contract stated we would have our slab within 14 days. We reached out December 23rd when we still hadn’t heard anything. We received a message back from David saying that he still had not processed our order...but happy new year... I reached out again on January 13th asking for the slab to be delivered ASAP or would gladly accept a refund. It is now January 15th and we have yet to receive our slab OR hear from David. This has caused an immense delay in completion of this project. We are now in the process of requesting a refund from the credit card company due to “goods not delivered.” Needless to say we will not be utilizing these services in the future and neither should you. There are no excuses when you are dealing with the store manager in directly.
I have been totally dissatisfied with Blue Rock in regard to the counter top installation at my residence in Camden Maine, my first complaint was with the installation of the counter top which was installed out of level on my very level kitchen cabinets....level cabinets, should mean level counter top, no excuses. Following the initial installation I added an island cabinet with granite from the slab used in the earlier work, only recently after installing better lighting in the kitchen, was it evident that one corner of the slab was damaged, it could have happened at anytime even when unloading the slab in my driveway....someone probably said "the owner will never notice" ....WRONG.....I did eventually notice this, so unprofessional!
Dave Lamp and the crew at Blue Rock are "Top Notch"! From the selection process to the fabrication and installation of the countertops, they go above and beyond to satisfy the wants and needs of my clients. We have been working together for six years. They are a great compliment to my kitchen and bath business!
I have worked with Dave Lamb and the staff at Blue Rock on several occasions and each time they've raised the bar! Most recently we had them install a granite counter top in our showroom. They did a fantastic job of listening to what we wanted: extra deep overhang on seating side, softly curved end and a traditional edge detail. We love it and get many compliments!
