Bozzuto Bros. Refuse Services is a trash and recycling hauler that describes itself as family owned and operated, with over 60 years of experience in refuse and recycling for residences and commercial businesses. Its website lists Killingworth, Madison, Guilford, Clinton, Westbrook and Old Saybrook among the places it serves. A recent customer who switched to Bozzuto said the people in the office have been pleasant and helpful. A 2025 customer who had tried other trash services in the Guilford area said they showed up when they were supposed to and once turned around to grab a neighbor's late trash. A 2025 customer said the company dragged their bin through the snow to empty it after a snowstorm. A recent customer who moved away said the service had been reliable for years, but that several emails to Tom asking for a prorated refund on the unused part of a quarterly service went unanswered; that customer put the amount at $50. A 2026 customer wrote that after 18 inches of snow the truck had come by an hour earlier, and that they were told $15 when they called to ask if it could come back. A 2024 customer in Branford said the company frequently missed garbage pickup and was always late, and that debris was left after critters got into the garbage. A 2023 customer said that after the switch from John's Refuse, their bins were left blocking the driveway and the sidewalk every Monday and trash that fell out was left on the lawn. A 2023 customer said a driver backed into their steel mailbox post, and that repairs promised after several calls had still not been made more than a month later.
I switched to Bozzuto and so glad I did! Great service and the people in the office have been pleasant and helpful.

Bozzuto’s Trash Service was reliable and provided good service during the years I used them. Unfortunately, my experience changed completely once I moved from the residence. After moving, I contacted Tom at the company several times by email requesting a prorated credit/refund for the unused portion of my quarterly service. Despite multiple attempts, my emails went unanswered. I understand that policies may vary, but the lack of communication and customer service was extremely disappointing. A company should be just as responsive when issuing a refund as they are when deducting payment for services. Based on this experience, I would avoid Bozzuto’s Trash Service and choose a company that places a higher priority on customer service and communication. All this to avoid refunding $50, hopefully just cost you hundreds.
So 18 inches of snow I get I’m not the only home with issues finally got my driveway plowed your truck was here hour ago called to ask if he could come back told $15 $ is not the issue Where’s the customer service !! Unbelievable
This company went above and beyond af ter the recent snowstorm to drag my bin thru the snow to empty it. This is 1st class service!
