A 2024 Google customer said they paid Derek a $12,000 deposit for a patio and landscaping, and that he never did the job or showed up. That customer said a year later the money still had not been paid back. A 2023 customer said Derek Burke was hired to remove backyard shrubs and weeds and replace them with grass, but cut everything to ground level and covered it with topsoil instead of pulling the roots. In that 2023 account, heavy rain later uncovered stumps and roots, the weeds grew back, and the customer said they had to hire someone else to redo the job. A 2023 customer said the yard looked great and that they were maintaining it well for a fair price. Burke Landscaping holds 2.3 stars from 3 Google ratings. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0672006, held by Burke Landscaping LLC, as inactive due to non-renewal.
Derek, who is the owner of the Burke Landscaping took $12,000 from me as a deposit for a patio and landscaping. He never did the job or even showed up. It has been 1 year and he still has not paid me back. He is a thief and I would never recommend him to anyone. DO NOT TRUST HIM! He was referred to me by his friend at Celtic Tree and Landscape. This is another company I would not trust. Although, they get the trees removed, it dragged on for over a month!
Great work in a timely manner! Yard looks great and they are maintaining it well for a fair price
I hired Derek Burke to remove shrubs and weeds in my backyard and replace them with grass. Derek said he pulled the roots but he actually cut everything to ground level and covered the areas with top soil. It appeared the job was done until the weeds grew back a week later. Some heavy rain uncovered multiple stumps and roots still in the ground under the topsoil. Derek came back a couple times and assured me everything was corrected. It was not. Derek did not do the work he was paid for. I have to hire someone else to get the entire job redone. The grass he planted is not even growing. Completely pathetic.
