Byrne Woodworking says it was founded by Frank Byrne in Mountrath, Ireland, in 1974 and reborn in Fairfield, Connecticut, in 1990, and it describes Frank as a traditional woodworker whose skills were handed down from his grandfather and father. A home design feature on nehomemag.com credits the cabinetry on a project to Frank Byrne of Byrne Woodworking, and the design firm site williamlyondesigns.com says one of its looks was accomplished with the help of Byrne Woodworking. Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. A 2025 Houzz customer said Byrne Woodworking built a kitchenful of cabinets for their new house that started peeling, warping, cracking and staining, and that the company would not fix them. That 2025 customer said Jim, the project manager, visited the site and admitted the cabinets were defective but did nothing to follow up. In 2015, a German door and hardware company that worked with Byrne Woodworking on a hinge order said Barbara was easy to work with; that order was refunded after a change in design. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0612342, as active, held by Byrne Woodworking Inc.
“Cabinetry: Frank Byrne, Byrne Woodworking”
“We accomplished this look with the help of Byrne Woodworking.”
Byrne Woodworking built a whole kitchenful of defective cabinets for my new house, and won't fix them. The cabinets are garbage - they immediately started peeling, warping, cracking and staining. Over months and months, Jim, the project manager visits the site to see the problem, admits that the cabinets are defective, but does nothing to follow up. They continue to string me along, and it appears that Byrne Woodworking has no intention of satisfactorily fixing or replacing their defective kitchen cabinets that continue to deteriorate. Examples of the staining, peeling and cracking are below. Based on this experience, I believe that Byrne Woodworking does not stand by it's work, and is not a reputable company.
We are a high end German Door and Hardware company that worked with Byrne Woodworking, Inc on a hinge order. Barbara was very nice and extremely easy to work with. Ultimately the order was refunded due to the change in design, but it really makes our job easy when working with such pleasant colleagues like Barbara. We look forward to working with Barbara and Byrne Woodworking, Inc in the future
