Cambridge Realty Group has worked Union Square in Somerville since 1997 — residential sales, rentals and a property management arm, covering Somerville, Cambridge and Medford. Its Massachusetts brokerage licence, 7592-RE-C, is active in the state registry. What people write about is almost always one agent, by name. A seller in February 2026 said listing agent Camila Dinamarca got an acceptable offer in under a week after one open-house weekend. Two renters in April 2026 both named an agent called Matt for being responsive and straight with them. A January 2026 renter credited Mario Capone with knowing the inventory well enough to make the choice obvious. Back in 2022, a buyer said Michael Wilson-Pierce forwarded listings the moment they posted and kept their offers competitive through a thin market. The problem is what the same six months also contain. Three of the last seven reviews are one star. In June 2026 a reviewer said agent John Oliveira went quiet after their clients' offer had been accepted, and stayed unreachable through repeated attempts. In April 2026 a prospect said an agent replied once and then stopped answering. Also in April 2026, a tenant wrote that the brokerage was ignoring the new Massachusetts broker-fee law and requiring tenants to pay fees, and said it should be reported to the state board — that is a reviewer's allegation, not a finding by anyone official, but it is specific enough to raise before you sign anything. Google averages 4.2 across 37 ratings, which reads better than the recent months do. Older complaints run the same way: a 2022 tenant described a move-in with no follow-up and being locked out for twenty minutes with a moving van because nobody helped get the keys. The read is that outcomes here depend heavily on which agent you land. If someone recommends a specific person at this office, that is the version reviewers like. Otherwise get the agent's name in writing before you commit, ask exactly what fees you will pay and who pays them, and confirm the answer against the current Massachusetts rules.
“I've seriously interacted with two (Apartment Rental Experts and Cambridge Realty Group) and both seemed, to put it lightly, not remotely remotely the massive rental fee they're charging.”
“The absolute worst. The conduct of this group and its agents is so unprofessional that I actually thought their listings were all scams.”
John Oliveira sent my clients an offer. We accepted the offer which was great. Then out of no where John ghosted us. I’ve made multiple attempts to reach out to him with no success. Very unprofessional..
This is one of few shady brokerages flagrantly ignoring the new law about broker fees and forcing tenants to pay them to rent their listings. If you are a tenant that found one of their listings online and you are being asked to pay a fee, know that this is 100% illegal, and that whoever hired them (your prospective new landlord) is also being shady. It's critical that companies like this are reported to Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons and the Office of Consumer Protection in MA. Shame on you, CRG.
We worked with Matt to find a place in Cambridge and he was great. Super responsive and transparent throughout the process.
I worked with Matt to find the perfect apartment in Cambridge and he was absolutely delightful. Super attentive, responded quickly, and helped us secure our lease. Truly was a pleasure working with him!!!
I reached out for more information on a property and Mario reached out to me in a timely manner. He unfortunately then did not reply to any of my questions or messages, which is disappointing given it is near impossible to find a reliable and helpful realty team in this area.
