Campos Brothers Landscaping works out of 178 S Quinsigamond Ave in Shrewsbury. It is a BBB Accredited Business rated A+, and the BBB records a licence number, HE-188421, issued by the state Office of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulations. Beyond mowing and clean-ups the company builds: patios, walkways, retaining walls, stone steps and drainage. The construction work is where the record is strongest, and the accounts are detailed. A May 2025 customer described Jacob, Marvin and the team finishing a patio, firepit and walkway with retaining walls and perimeter planting, and said it was their second project with the company. A May 2024 client had a walkway, retaining walls with stairs, a 450-square-foot patio and vinyl fencing completed in two weeks, with everything cleaned and patched afterwards and a few extras added beyond the quote. Another May 2024 customer had twenty-year-old brick pavers power-washed, reset and re-sanded until they looked new. An April 2025 reviewer had hired the team twice for stonework — a Rosary Garden at St. Anne's in Shrewsbury and a retaining wall in Spencer — and said both came in on budget and on time. In October 2023 a homeowner described bringing them in to redo another contractor's work and said they would not use anyone else again. The maintenance side draws long relationships too: a May 2023 customer had been with them three years on a demanding mixed site of lawn, mulch beds and mature pines, and a December 2022 client said they stepped in at short notice for a fall clean-up their previous landscaper had repeatedly failed to do. The complaints are serious and specific, and they cluster. Showing up is the recurring one: a May 2026 customer with a 9am appointment was told the owner was stuck in traffic and says nobody came at all; an April 2023 customer says the company never showed and never answered the phone. Snow work draws the sharpest accounts — a January 2022 client with a rental property says a storm agreement was not honoured, tenants were stranded for two days, calls and texts went unanswered, and the crew eventually plowed the wrong house. A January 2023 neighbour says a plow truck twice went well past the marker stakes and tore up the lawn and decorative rocks, and a March 2026 reviewer describes plowing that damaged a driveway and snowbanks piled so high they left almost no parking. Billing and communication appear too. An April 2025 customer says he was charged about $500 for a spring clean-up he had never requested or approved, added automatically on the basis of an email he never saw, and got a defensive reply when he questioned it. An April 2025 neighbour of a customer says a crew launched rocks with a leaf blower into his car and that his calls were never returned. The balance matters: the 4.4 average sits on 73 Google ratings, but three of the four reviews posted in the last six months are negative. If you are hiring for a build — a patio, a wall, a walkway — the record behind that work is deep and consistently good. If you are hiring for a recurring service, and especially for snow, pin down the schedule, the escalation contact and exactly what will be billed before you sign.
Installed a new walkway to replace a100+ yr old walkway that had deteriorated from side entrance to front entrance. All I can say is AWESOME!!!
Had an appointment with Jacob scheduled for 9am this morning. I called them at 9:10am and was told that he must be stuck in traffic. No one bothered to show up. Glad to know upfront that this company is completely unreliable.
Customer service is great, but the quoting folks took a while to get the quotes done. We went with a different company instead. Our change request took a while, and my husband was upset!
Probably one of the worst maintenance and landscaping companies out there. The crews are poorly trained and lack the experience needed to complete the tasks they're assigned. Property management is awful across the board. Snow plowing was extremely poor and resulted in damage to several areas of the driveway. Snow removal overall is unacceptable-snowbanks were piled up to unreasonable heights, leaving little to no parking available. The apartment management side is just as bad. Crews spend 8+ hours cutting grass in a single day using all gas-powered equipment, which is excessive and disruptive. In multiple instances, the apartment maintenance team had to dig out areas themselves because the landscaping crew was either unresponsive or wasting time near the garbage area. Overall, the service is unprofessional, inefficient, and causes more problems than it solves.
I can’t find words to explain how delighted and happy I am with this company. They provided a fall clean up that exceeded my expectations. They were meticulous. I recommend you seriously consider hiring this company.
