Three jobs for one household: a new stain throughout the house, a tiled kitchen replaced with hardwood, then a carpeted room, and each time the crew made room in its schedule right away, a March 2026 Google reviewer wrote of Carvalho Junior Hardwood Floors. The Shelton, CT company sands, stains, refinishes and installs hardwood, and customers name Ricardo, also called Rick, as the one who quotes and runs the jobs. It holds 5 stars from 121 Google ratings and 4.6 from 147 on both HomeAdvisor and Angi, with written reviews from 2018 to 2026. Refinishing is the core of it. A September 2026 customer said the sanding and staining left a smooth, even finish with minimal dust, and a May 2026 reviewer said the crew put up barriers and tape to contain dust first. In February 2026, a homeowner had attic carpet replaced with prefinished hardwood and stair treads refinished, with notches in one tread filled and stained to match. A 2023 customer whose German shepherd had scratched the floors said Ricardo recommended a more durable matte coat and finished between a Friday and a Wednesday while the family was away. Old houses come up too. A May 2026 reviewer had waited years to tackle their "300 year floors"; a September 2024 customer had floors refinished in an 1880s home with matching hardwood added in the kitchen. In a May 2025 review, the crew removed old tile, installed new oak and refinished the existing hardwood in four days. An April 2024 reviewer said the price paid was exactly what Ricardo quoted. The work also includes vinyl: a June 2025 customer had nearly 600 square feet of LVP put down in one day. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0703491, is listed by the state as active, held by Carvalho Junior Hardwood Floors LLC. It has an A+ grade with the BBB and is BBB accredited.

We just had our hardwood floors refinished by Carvalho Jr Hardwood Floors and they did an incredible job from start to finish! The team was punctual, highly communicative, and respectful of our home. They paid amazing attention to detail during the sanding and staining process, ensuring the finish was completely smooth and even. Not only did they finish the project right on schedule, but they also left the workspace exceptionally clean with minimal dust. Our older floors look brand-new again. I highly recommend Ricardo and his entire crew.
