Central Exterminating Services is a pest-control company that says it has been in business for 35 years. A 2025 customer said a couple of wasp nests had become a problem. That customer wrote that Drew, the technician, showed up on time, identified the two nests, walked around the house and the garage and identified one more, then came back a week later to remove the nests. A 2025 reviewer wrote that they were able to come the next business day and that a spray cost $150. When that reviewer was seeing a little more activity, the reviewer wrote, they came before 9am the next morning, sprayed and explained what was likely going on. A 2025 customer said they answered the phone on a Friday, arranged service for Monday and charged a reasonable price, and was completely satisfied assuming the yellow jackets were no longer a problem. A 2025 customer raised environmental concerns about mouse control, writing that the company only offered services that kill the mice rather than fixing how they get in, using poison "stations", and that the company said "they can't control where they eventually die".

Environmental concerns! For pest control related to mice, they only offer services that kill the mice not fix the structural issues of how they're getting in. But alarmingly, they use what they described as "stations" they set up which poison the mice, but as they stated, "they can't control where they eventually die". The biggest concern is it runs a high risk of poisoning other animals who then eat the mice, creating a domino effect within Maine's ecosystem. There are even rescues set up now specifically trying to support wildlife that have been poisoned from these methods. There are many other environmentally-friendly ways of handling these situations. Anyone can order humane traps on Amazon that are cheap and work very effectively, and there are great cost-conscious contractors in Maine that find and fix the places where structurally they're getting in. I hope the business reconsiders these practices and that we all try to preserve the precious wildlife we have here in Maine.
Very pleased. They answered the phone on a Friday, arranged service for Monday. Showed up and charged a reasonable price. Assuming the yellow jackets 🐝 are no longer a problem I am completely satisfied and would highly recommend them.
We have had a really good experience with them so far. They're able to come the next business day, the rate for a spray is pretty reasonable ($150), and the folks there are very pleasant. We needed them to come look again as we were seeing a little more activity and they came before 9am the next morning and sprayed and explained what was likely going on. Highly recommend!
We had a couple of wasp nests that were becoming a problem. Central Exterminating should be what businesses strive to be. I called and they answered the phone, which seems to be a rarity these days. They were able to get me an appointment that week. Drew, the technician, showed up to the house on time. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. He identified the two nests we had and did a walk around the house and the garage and identified one more. Got all three taken care of and then came back a week later to remove the nests. The price for the service was more than reasonable. It is really so nice to see a professionally run business that actually wants you as a customer and is appreciative of your business. I can't speak highly enough and while hopefully I don't ever need an exterminator again, if I do I will absolutely be calling them.
