Don't be fooled. Seems nice on the surface but is unethical and greedy. I found out after the fact that he's been grossly overcharging us and my husband gives him $ up front so we are stuck. When our lawn completely dies in July-Aug-Sept, I asked if he could stop coming weekly. He claimed the grass needed to be cut weekly so he comes and rides around in the dirt for two minutes so he can charge his weekly cutting fee. There is literally dirt clouds coming up around his ride-on mower but he still needs to make his money apparently. The one area that stays alive during the hot summer is the embankment by the brook but it's on a slant so the mowers cant' go down there. He won't take a weed-wacker to it unless prompted. Should I really have to tell him that? It's the only grass that needs cutting. Horrible. If I remember, I will add photos of him driving through the dirt on his mower the next time he comes.
I can not say enough good things about Mike Collins. He and his staff are professional, wonderful and he goes the extra mile. He transformed the front of our house which was overgrown from 25+ years of planting to a place we are now happy to come home to! Neighbors were gawking the whole day. We have already hired him to return 3 times per year for maintenance and we expect to do some hardscaping with him either later in the fall or early spring. He receives an A+++++++++++++++++
The entire job was done in 3 days by 2-3 workers for the fixed price that was agreed upon. The speed of the initial cost estimate and of starting/completing the work was very fast. One component of the stone walkway needed to be redone due to a misalignment of stones that occurred due to complex reasons. The company readily agreed to fix the problem and did so at no extra charge. We are very pleased with the appearance of the final work and feel there was good value for the money. Company personnel were courteous and friendly. Would definitely use again for other landscaping projects.
After making a request for a quote for yard cleanup work we received a very timely call from Collins. They came out to the house and provided us a very competitiive estimate to perform the work. They scheduled the work and showed up as promised. They work was performed to our complete satisfaction. We are awaiting estimates to rebuild our stone steps and plan to have Collins do that next spring as part of our spring cleanup.
