A recent Google customer said a sudden emergency overflowing into their basement was pumped out in under 90 minutes from the call. Complete Excavation and Septic Services, in Isle La Motte, pumps, inspects and installs septic systems; its website says it has been in business 26 years. A recent customer described a septic alarm going off at 10PM on a Friday: Tanner was on site before noon Saturday, patched the system for the weekend and returned Monday morning to work through other issues beyond a broken main line connection. A recent customer said the pump on their mound system stopped on a Friday with all three tanks overflowing; Nick pumped the tanks four hours after the call, and on Monday Chad figured out why the pump had stopped and fixed it. A recent customer said Tanner and Chad removed and filled an old steel septic tank, moved a giant rock and put walkways back in place. A recent customer said the company replaced and hard-piped their sump pump as well as pumping their septic tank. A 2024 customer said the company did the site work for a house they built in Alburgh, VT, including excavation, foundation, septic, electrical conduit and grading. A 2024 customer said the company dug a new trench, connected their sump pump to a newly dug outflow system and resurfaced their driveway. A 2025 customer said a septic system was installed at their family camp on Lake Champlain in Swanton, VT, in time for the 2025 summer season. A 2025 customer said a smoke test found a cracked sewage pipe, which was repaired, ending a stink in their home that had lasted since mid-December 2024. The company also rents portable toilets: a 2024 customer rented one for a large gathering at their North Hero camp and said it was delivered on time. A recent customer who first used the company in 2022 moved their review from five stars to four after a later pump-out. They wrote that they were still satisfied with the work, but that the driver, Chad, spun stones from their driveway onto the paved town road and a neighbor's lawn and did not stop to tell them.
“She runs Complete Excavation and Septic Services in Isle La Motte, which rents out port-a-potties and other portable restrooms.”
8/2022 - We used CSS this year for septic pump services after seeing their good rating. In years past we were using a local company that was bought out by another company. Started my process by calling the company we have used in the past and CSS for pricing. CSS was a small amount higher but their reviews were outstanding. When we last used our previous septic pump service company our experience was much less than 5 star. I won't go into the details of that service call but it involved having to call their office a few times. Anyways, I figured paying a little extra was worth trying a new company so we decided to try CSS. When I called to schedule they were able to fit me in within 3 or 4 days (same week). Wasn't a show stopper if they couldn't but it was nice that they did. Their ETA was 11am to 1pm today. They showed up 20-30 min earlier than the front side of the time window which was very nice. Brandon was the service guy and he was very polite and respectful. He did a great job for us and it was nice to learn too that he would do a rinse of the tank after pumping it out. I've never seen that done before. I was impressed from start to finish. I can see now why such the good reviews. On time, great employees on the phone and face to face, great service, and competitive pricing. Will use them for sure in the future when we need pumping service again. Two thumbs up. 10/3/26 Update: Just had CSS pump out our septic again. Still very satisfied with their work. I am moving my review from a 5 to a 4. I am disappointed that the driver, Chad, spun a bunch of stones from our driveway out into the paved town road and also onto our neighbors lawn when he backed up our driveway. I totally get that this can happen with a large truck but disappointed he didn’t stop when he was leaving and come back and let me know what had happened. I didn’t realize what happened until about 6 hours later when I was leaving. It was bad enough that I had to go get a shovel & broom to clean the paved road of 1.25” stone. Do better CSS.
Excellent experience the first time using CESS. Had an inspection and our first pump out of our septic at our seasonal home in Alburgh since we purchased. Stopped in and the office was not open yet. Chad took all my info and took the time to talk with me and understand what I needed. Kim and Jasmine were great in following up and work was scheduled and completed the next week! Nice finding a reliable and trustworthy company to do business with.
Called, arrived, and pumped out in under 90 minutes when I had a sudden emergency overflowing into my basement! Pretty amazing to go from "problem" to "fixed" that quickly!
I have had Complete Excavation and Septic Services replace and hard pipe my sump pump as well as pump out my septic tank. They always provide prompt, friendly service at a fair price. They are reliable, conscientious and work quickly. This is a local, family-owned business that is honest and treats their customers right.
Complete Septic Services is incredible! Called to set up a non-emergency appointment to have someone come out and investigate a funky basement smell. Kim outlined some of the potential issues and arranged for a service visit early the next morning. Chad called to let me know when he was en route, quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed things up, and also gave some more helpful tips on how to keep the septic system healthy and running well. Family-run small business who really takes pride in their work and getting to know their customers and community. I will definitely be reaching back out for regular maintenance and any other issues moving forward!
