Creative Contour is a Middletown landscape design-and-install company built around its owner, Jennifer Noyes, whom customers call Jen or Jennifer. People hire her to take an overgrown or bare yard and redesign it: plantings, patios, walkways, fire pits, boulder walls. Google shows 5 stars from 163 ratings and Houzz 5.0 from 75. The design process comes up in detail. A July 2026 customer said Jen took them through the nursery ahead of time to learn what they did and didn't like. In an October 2024 review, a homeowner said Jen's first comment was that the deck and patio needed replacing; after thinking it over they agreed, changed the whole project scope, and said the crew swept, packed and cleaned the site at the end of each day. A November 2021 customer described a regraded front yard to stop basement flooding through the window wells, with a modern stoop, new plants and a rock border. Some installs are big. A June 2026 customer singled out a boulder retaining wall and hired the company again for more work. In a May 2025 review, a homeowner described a heavily sloped property turned around in a two-week transformation, and an October 2024 customer said a crew of three worked all six days of the job and cleaned up daily. The sharpest complaint is recent. In an August 2026 Google review, a customer praised the design and the front walkway but said the side walkway was installed without sufficient pitch even though they had told Jennifer about a drainage problem; water stands on it after rain, their driveway contractor refused to start until it was regraded, and Jennifer said she stood by her job, so they hired another contractor to fix it. Older Angi reviews from 2008 and 2011 also complain: the 2011 reviewer said the owner was not truthful about the cost of materials and labor, and the 2008 reviewer said there was no contract detailing what they would receive and they got an e-mail with photographs. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.5 stars from 16 ratings. Connecticut's registry shows its home improvement contractor license, HIC.0678420, held by Creative Contours LLC, as expired.
The photo shows our installation in progress. Their work is beautifully conceived, expertly installed and the results are stunning. We will be having more work done in the spring.
Our house finally has the curb appeal it deserves! Jennifer and her hard-working team turned our overgrown yard into an amazing garden. We’ve gotten so many compliments from neighbors who are as wowed as we are by the transformation. Jennifer brought her vision to our project while also listening to our wishes. She loves what she does and her energy and enthusiasm are contagious—she is super fun to work with. And can’t say enough about the guys on her team. They are efficient, conscientious, and attentive to every detail. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Creative Contour and definitely recommend them.
Jen and her crew did a fabulous job turning our bland backyard into a beautiful area that we now enjoy using. Jen is passionate about her career and helping her clients achieve their yard’s potential. Jen listened, gave options, and steered us in the right direction as we picked out our design, pavers, plants and shrubs. Her crew does high quality work demonstrating they are skilled, dedicated and hardworking. We have been getting many compliments on our backyard with its gorgeous patio bordered by beautiful plantings. Jen is extremely knowledgeable with designs for landscaping and hardscaping as well as plants and shrubs that fit your needs and will continue to delight your home for years to come.
Jen and her crew exceeded every expectation! They did a tremendous amount of work clearing out our overgrown, invasive jungle and manicuring it! Now it’s a park-like oasis that we are proud of! Jen and her crew treated our home and our family like their own. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, professionally and personally. I cannot recommend Jen enough, and if I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. Hire her, you will not be disappointed!
First, I would like to say that the landscape design that Jennifer created was beautiful and we have received many compliments on it. We also had her create two walkways. The design of both are beautiful. Her workmen were professional and very polite. There is no problem at all with the walkway in the front of the house. Before the work was started we told her there was a drainage problem which was the reason for the makeshift walkway on the side entrance that we were asking her to replace. Unfortunately, the walkway for the side entrance that she installed was installed without sufficient pitch causing it to not drain properly. After rain, water stands on the walkway and around the front entrance to the driveway. This creates a slip hazard especially in winter when the water freezes. I could say that we won't use the walkway when there is water on it. However, what if the Amazon or UPS delivery people come by or the Mail Carrier and we aren't home? What if they slip and fall? We are having a new driveway installed. Our driveway contractor has refused to install our new driveway until the walkway is regraded because they do not want to be responsible for an unsafe condition. I showed Jennifer the pictures of the standing water on the driveway. I asked if she would rework the walkway with a pitch of at least 2 %. She said she stood by her job and was not going to correct the problem. She stated the water would absorb into the ground. Yes, it did eventually but it remains a potential walking hazard. I now have had to hire another contractor to fix the walkway issue which is an added expense that we hadn't planned on. If we hadn't told her upfront about the water issue I would say it is are fault because she didn't know. But that is not the case. She was told. Her workmen removed the makeshift walkway we had there. If Jennifer had said she would stand behind her work and rework the walkway at her expense I would have given her 5 stars because mistakes do happen. No one is infallible. I am disappointed because the rest of the landscaping as you can see by the pictures is excellent. The walkway is the problem.
