Curran Tree gets called for the big, awkward removals. A 2025 customer said a team that included Nick, the owner, used a spider machine to dismantle a large dying Norway Maple whose limbs overhung two houses, working from a tight driveway. That 2025 customer also said they had special equipment to sweep the city street of debris. The company says on its website that it has been in business 14 years, and lists a service area that runs from Providence, Pawtucket and Cranston down to Narragansett and West Greenwich. The local news site valleybreeze.com has named Curran Tree as a Pawtucket DPW vendor. A recent Google customer names Nick Curren as the owner and calls the tree work quick and very reasonably priced. A 2026 customer said the company took down a very tall white pine that had been damaged by a lightning strike. A 2025 customer said a two-day job removed four large trees and trimmed dead limbs from about 8-10 other trees on the lot. A 2018 customer said six trees were removed and the stumps ground. A 2017 customer said Curran Tree removed a huge triple-trunked maple from a backyard that other tree companies said a truck could not fit into. On Reddit, a 2024 commenter in r/RhodeIsland said they used Curran in 2019 and that it removed a 50 foot spruce three feet from their foundation for half the price of North Eastern. A 2024 commenter in the same subreddit wrote that "they actually pick up the phone and respond to emails." A 2019 customer said their calls to accept a quote went unanswered over two weeks, and that on the day of service the worker could not reach the tenants to move their cars because no one had called the day before.
“Curran Tree. They are the best I’ve used and most reasonable quotes. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive. Their clean up game is on point, and they actually pick up the phone and respond to emails.”
“I have used Curran and Northeastern. Both have done great jobs, Curran is a smaller company and a little more responsive.”
“I used Curran back in 2019 and they did a fine job. Half the price of North Eastern and removed a 50 foot spruce that was three feet from my foundation”
“An employee from Pawtucket DPW vendor, Curran Tree, cleared the sidewalks in front of Shea High School to prepare for school opening on Monday.”
Nick Curren the owner has been in business for 10yrs+ (which is hard to find bc folks with little experience seem to be popping up more on google reviews). He was the best tree guy I’ve ever hired and I’ve hired a lot (our main residence is adjacent to the Berkshires). He and his work was amazing! Professional, quick, amazing tree work and VERY reasonably priced. It was an absolute pleasure working with him.
Great work taking down a very tall white pine that had been damaged by a lightning strike. Very happy with their work!
Curren Tree is outstanding in every aspect of their operation. Easy, reliable and prompt communication via text and phone calls. Fair and fast estimate. Helpful guidance in terms of managing permitting and parking. This was not an easy job by any stretch navigating a tricky parking situation with the city for the equipment, a tight driveway to set up the equipment, and a large dying Norway Maple with VERY large limbs in a “Y” overhanging two houses. The spider machine and a pleasant team of hard working guys (including Nick, the owner) expertly dismantled this tree and hauled away every square inch barely leaving a trace of sawdust. I wish i had before and after pics, but I was extremely impressed. They even had special equipment to sweep the city street of debris. Can’t recommend Curren enough.
Curran Tree completed a two day job at our house today and all I can say is what a wonderful group of professionals to work with. Their price was competitive and we truly got our values worth. After removing four large trees and cleaning up (trimming removing dead limbs) from about 8-10 other trees on the lot we couldn't be happier. They cleaned up the yard as if they were never here. I would highly recommend Nick Curran and his crew for any work needed.
