One recent job from Custom Works Renovations: a shower with no transition from the bathroom floor, built so a family member could be wheeled in. That customer also praised the niche box Jay made. The business holds 5 stars from 21 Google ratings. A recent customer who had a tub and tile surround replaced said Jay arrived at 8 a.m. on the dot for the estimate, communicated several times a day, often with video, and finished the project in one week as a one-person team. A customer who had started demolishing a bathroom without finishing said Javier corrected those mistakes, completed the project on time, and was asked back to do their second bathroom in the fall. A recent customer who hired Jay Ruiz for a major home renovation said he enclosed the work area with plastic to minimize dust, swept the area at the end of each day, and that any costs above the estimate were for items they asked him to add. A recent customer said the company built a deck for their lake house, and had also remodeled their bathroom, finished an empty room and updated their kitchen tile. A 2026 customer described a kitchen makeover from dark wood cabinets to bright white, with a granite sink and countertop, crediting Jay and Alex. A 2024 customer who had a kitchen installed wrote that "they do it all, plumbing, electrical, carpentry." A 2022 customer described converting two small bedrooms into one master bedroom with a custom closet and turning the bathroom into an en-suite, and said Javier added two windows.
If you are in need of a major home renovation, Jay Ruiz of Custom Renovations is your man! Jay’s attention to detail is truly his driving force. From the initial consultation to the completion of the project, he has a clear vision of the finished space and works to make it look both beautiful and purposeful. He takes the time to ask questions and, most importantly, listens carefully to your answers so he understands your needs and wants. Jay knows and loves his trade, and it is clear that he takes great pride in his work. He gets genuine satisfaction from seeing the finished project and knowing that his customers are happy. He is extremely reliable, showing up every day and staying focused until the project is completed. He sets a goal for what he wants to accomplish each day and consistently follows through. Even when an unexpected problem arises, Jay doesn’t get discouraged. He finds a solution, fixes the issue, and keeps moving forward so he can stay on schedule and accomplish his daily goals. Another thing we really appreciated was how clean and respectful he was of our home. While working, he enclosed the work area with plastic to minimize dust and debris from spreading into other areas of the house. At the end of each day, he never left without cleaning up his materials and sweeping the area. His estimate for our project was right on point. Any costs above the original estimate were for additional items that we asked him to add to the project. His hourly rate was very reasonable for his level of skill, workmanship, and attention to detail. We were extremely pleased with Jay and the quality of his work. We would highly recommend Jay Ruiz and Custom Renovations to anyone considering a home renovation. We would definitely hire him again!
I am excited to say Custom works created the most beautiful deck for our lake house. Ours was old and weak. We left town for a few days and when we came back the change was beautiful. We have had custom works do several projects for us and we have been extremely satisfied. We had a bathroom remodeled, a beautiful empty room completely finished and tile updates done in our kitchen. All of Jay’s work has been above our expectation's. He is talented, easy to work with and has become a family friend. Do not hesitate to reach out to him for your home projects.
Jay was absolutely wonderful to work with. The pride he takes in his work is over and above. We would highly recommend him to anyone we know. We actually have recommended him to several friends and family members already. We hired him for a shower that will be used for a handicap family member. There is no transition from our bathroom floor into the shower for ease of wheeling her in. You would never know it was two different floors, he combined like one. Also the niche box he made is amazing!!!! If you are looking for perfection, Jay is your guy!!!! For pricing you get what you pay for. I have seen showers done by just your everyday person and there is no comparison. He is worth the money.
As with every great home project, I managed to put off having my tub and tile surround replaced for 7 years (whoops). In the end, I guess it was meant to be because Jay and Custom Works Renovations ended up exceeding all possible expectations. He responded to my initial email within 24 hours and when he scheduled to visit my home at 8:00 a.m. to do an estimate, he arrived at 8 a.m. on the dot. This punctuality alone would have been worth the cost, but Jay also takes pride in his work, always taking care that things are done well and correctly. I was a bit anxious because I know that bathroom projects can quickly go sideways, but Jay always had a solution for every potential problem...and often two or three. We always felt heard and respected every step of the way. While we stayed off-site during the project, he communicated several times a day, often with video, and called us in when an in-person conversation made more sense. For a one-person team to complete this project with this level of quality in one week is wild to me. Jay's business is a real asset to our community and I look forward to referring him to friends and family while I seek out a new project to tackle! Thanks again from the Leighton family.
Javier was professional, conscientious, and quality driven. He takes pride in his work and pleasing his customers. I (DYIer)had started the demolition of the existing bathroom but never had the time to finish it. Javier corrected my mistakes and gave us a masterpiece. He did exactly what he said he would do, communicated every step of the way, and completed the project on time. My wife and I are ecstatic with his work on our bathroom, so much so, that we have asked him to do our second bathroom in the fall. We wholeheartedly endorse Javier and Custom Works Renovations. You will not be sorry for choosing this company. If it's quality you desire at a fair price we suggest you contact them. Thank you Custom Works Renovations for giving us exactly what we wanted.
