D.C. Murray Electric describes itself as an owner-operated residential electrician serving Scarborough and Southern Maine, with rewires, new construction, repairs and panel upgrades on its own list of work. One recent customer had Dana add recessed lighting to a hallway and mudroom that had never had lights, plus a 240V outlet for a new induction range and an outlet for the dishwasher. The range spot turned out to be a bump-out rather than part of the house over the crawl space, and that customer said Dana still figured out how to get the 240V service exactly where it needed to go, cutting as little drywall as possible in the finished home. A customer wrote that Dana moved their entire electrical panel, installed a generator, rewired multiple rooms and handled all the permits. That customer also said he will tell you when something does not need to be done instead of trying to sell more work. A customer who had a bunch of old high hats replaced and switches upgraded wrote that everything got done in time, with time spent explaining how everything worked. A 2026 customer said Dana did their whole home renovation and praised an eye for the details.

Dana is awesome! He was able to fit us into his schedule despite our very tight renovation timeline and went above and beyond to make sure the work was completed on time. He installed recessed lighting in our hallway and mudroom where there had never been lights before, as well as a 240V outlet for our new induction range and an outlet for the dishwasher. He was incredibly professional and very careful about minimizing the amount of drywall he needed to cut into while working in an already-finished home. We also ran into an unexpected challenge when we discovered that the section of the kitchen where the range was being installed was actually a bump-out rather than part of the house built over the crawl space. I had no idea. However, Dana was able to figure out how to get the 240V service exactly where it needed to go despite the surprise. He is trustworthy, professional, easy to work with, and clearly takes pride in doing the job right. He is now our go-to electrician and I would highly recommend him!
Dana came highly recommended to us, and he absolutely lived up to the hype. He’s tackled just about every electrical project imaginable at our house, from moving our entire electrical panel, installing a generator, to rewiring multiple rooms and handling all the permits. At this point, I think he knows our house better than we do. We’ve also called him back for a handful of smaller jobs, and he’s always been responsive, helpful, and honest. One of the things we appreciate most is that he’ll actually tell you when something doesn’t need to be done instead of trying to sell you more work. That’s rare. If you’re looking for someone who’s knowledgeable, dependable, hardworking, and genuinely cares about doing the job right, Dana is your guy. We’d recommend him without hesitation!
Great experience. Showed up on time and got everything done in time and better than expected. Replaced a bunch of old high hats and upgraded switches. Spent time explaining how everything worked. Highly Recommend.
Very professional, by far the most proficient and reasonable electrician I have ever worked with
