I have pre-paid and utilized Dans services for the last ~8 years. Recently, I realized I hadn't received a pre-payment contract and reached out on April 7th to find out when he would be coming. On April 8th, I received a generic email stating he would no longer be taking care of my lawn. I am now scrambling to find a company to take on a new client given how late it is as well as the importance of the pre-emergent application. Would I have heard from him had I not reached out? Doesn't seem like it. For a small business and for someone that I have worked with for several years, I would have expected and appreciated a heads up and personal outreach.
