Rebuilding a chimney above the roofline and keeping the house clean afterward are jobs Dan Driscoll’s customers have described. The Rockland masonry and chimney business has also been hired for repointing, sweeps, clean-outs and fireplace-door work. A customer writing in December 2025 said rainwater was entering the attic through an aging chimney. Dan inspected it within days of the customer’s call and recommended rebuilding from the roofline up. The reviewer said Dan and his crew arrived when promised, worked from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and completed the job in one day. They praised the new chimney’s appearance and said the crew remained available for questions. Another December 2025 reviewer described using Dan three times over nearly ten years in their home. Their account included chimney repointing, clean-outs and sweeps, along with replacement doors inside the fireplace and on the basement pit. The customer praised his pricing and said he left everything clean. In a September 2024 review, a regular fireplace user said they trusted his advice about which work needed doing immediately and which could wait. An August 2022 reviewer described a chimney rebuild from the roof up, including two hours spent setting up scaffolding to protect the property. They said the team worked for ten hours and cleaned up completely afterward. A separate June 2022 customer described substantial work on one chimney and smaller repairs to another. They said Dan kept the quoted price and schedule, protected plants while using two-storey scaffolding in a garden, and built a bench from spare stone pieces in the yard. Customers writing in September and December 2023 praised budget-conscious chimney work and prompt responses to texts, respectively. Two June 2023 customers gave one-star accounts: one complained about Dan’s and his assistant’s breath during a consultation, while the other reported poor attitudes. Dan Driscoll’s Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 186440, was expired when checked against the state registry in August 2026.
Dan is the best. In close to ten years in my home I’ve used him three times. He’s repointed my chimney, done clean-outs and sweeps, and replaced doors inside my fireplace and on the pit in the basement. He’s always super honest and reasonable. And his work is top notch. He leaves everything very clean. Easily one of the best tradesmen I’ve dealt with.
Dan showed up within days of me calling him to inspect my chimney situation. Due to the age of the existing chimney with rainwater entering into my attic Dan recommended rebuilding the chimney from the roof line up. He and his crew showed up on time the day that he said he would be here. Dan and his crew worked nonstop, from 7am to 5pm, no loud music, no foul language, and available for any questions I might have. He completed the job in one day and we are very happy with the outcome. New chimney looks great. I would absolutely recommend Dan and his crew to anybody asking me for a referral. Thanks Dan.
Punctual, professional, does great work, and gives it to you straight whether you need work done now or can wait until later. We use our indoor fireplace almost every night Oct to Apr so it's important that it's in good working order, and I trust Dan to make sure it is.
Dan Driscoll responded to my texts promptly. His workmanship and professionalism are exemplary. I recommend him highly.
Dan and his crew are great, he works with your budget and doesn't try to oversell. They are friendly, respectful and professional. Most importantly, they do great work! I couldn't be happier with the chimney work, and he even gave me a dozen eggs from his farm! :) I would definitely recommend.
