Dexter Electrical & Construction describes itself on the BBB as providing whole-home wiring, commercial electrical services, fire alarms, generators and electrical repairs to Northern Rhode Island. Its Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles say the company has over 20 years of experience. A recent customer said they responded immediately, came out to give a quote, and that the quote was very reasonable. A 2024 customer remodeling a bathroom said the old wiring was knob and tube sharing circuits with kitchen appliances, and that he ran a code-required 20amp circuit to the bathroom and brought the wiring for a few old pull string lights up to code. That 2024 customer said they helped with two extra outlets for free. A 2023 customer said they were fit in the same day during a power outage to help with a generator. A 2021 customer wrote that the company installed a new generator and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. A 2020 customer said Vincent Dexter and his associate Rob upgraded an antiquated electrical service feed, panels and the wiring involved, at a cost lower than expected. A 2024 customer said they waited over two weeks for a written estimate they had been told would take a couple days, and planned to go with another company. A 2020 customer who hired Vinny to upgrade their electrical service to 200a said the work was never inspected, that their city inspector found the permit was not pulled until after they filed a complaint with HomeAdvisor 11 months later, and that they had been billed for the permit.
Very professional! Came out and gave a quote. Responded immediately. Actually showed up! And quote was very reasonable
They came out to give us an estimate over two weeks ago and we still haven’t gotten the estimate in writing. We were told it would take a couple days. I guess we’ll go with the other company that came out and gave us an estimate within two days. I heard good things about Dexter and wanted to go with them, but I can only wait so long
I hired this company. I can do most of my own electrical without issues but when I started remodeling my bathroom, the wiring was not only knob and tube but it shared circuits with higher powered appliances in my kitchen 😐. It was technically an overloaded circuit with outdated wiring. Shock hazard, fire hazard, you name it. I was immediately discouraged and out of my league. I reached out for help and found this man and his crew. Not only did he run a completely code required 20amp circuit to my bathroom, but he also got rid of a few old pull string lights and made that wiring to code as well. They helped me out with an extra two outlets I was working on free and said "no big deal, I'll already be here". In my honest opinion, professional, quick, reasonably generous, code compliment, and reasonably affordable. All around great company owner who cares about his customers and the safety of their families/properties. With today's hacks who call themselves professionals, I found Dexter electric put most of them to shame. Most electricians these days will take you for a wallet ride. They did not. Thank you guys! I am deeply appreciative!
This is easily the best option for residential electric in the area - have had them twice. Great team, quality work, fairly priced. They snuck me in same day during a power outage to help with my generator. I’ll never call anyone else!
Dexter Electric was a great choice company to install my new generator!! They were professional, kind, fairly priced and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. I would hire them again for any electrical services theyâ re willing to take on.
