What it builds is specific. The product lines on its BBB and Houzz pages run to full lines of vinyl windows, thermal-break aluminium, and steel replica units meant to imitate historical steel windows without giving up modern glazing. Trade press in 2021 picked up one such job: a story about a historic factory converted into affordable apartments described the building's 4-by-8-foot openings filled with Diamond's high-performance double-hung windows and warm-edge insulating spacers. Two things are worth asking about. BBB grades the company B-, and ties that grade to a failure to respond to one complaint on file. Separately, Violation Tracker's extract of federal OSHA enforcement lists a $6,650 penalty against the company for a workplace safety or health violation dated August 6, 2014 — old, and stated as a closed civil matter, but it is published. One credential line needs care: Houzz shows NFRC, NANI and "BBB Certified" as the company's awards, while BBB's own page says the business is not BBB accredited. Read that third item as the company's claim, not a badge. Nothing written by homeowners appears on either its BBB or its Houzz page, so there is no track record here from people who actually bought the windows — the closest thing is a 2016 post from WaterFire Providence thanking the company after filming a tour of the factory that made windows for its arts center. If you want Diamond units in your house, the practical move is to have your contractor or a local dealer quote them, and to get lead time, warranty terms and who services a failed unit in writing from whoever installs them.
