DLB Paving Company works out of 55 Charles Bancroft Highway in Litchfield, New Hampshire, doing residential and commercial asphalt — driveway installation and resurfacing, sealcoating, stone-chip driveways and drainage work — across southern New Hampshire. The company says it has been family owned and operated since 1988, when it started paving residential driveways around Litchfield and Hudson and grew through referrals into commercial work; its Better Business Bureau file names Dana Boucher as owner and Ellen Boucher as office manager, with a business start date of 1/1/1988 and incorporation in 1993. Where the record is strongest is word of mouth from other New Hampshire homeowners. In an April 2023 r/newhampshire thread on southern-NH paving, one commenter said they had five or six companies out for driveway estimates and DLB Paving in Litchfield was the best of them; a second agreed it was great to deal with; and a third, who says they hire a lot of paving work in southern NH, put DLB at the top of the list for quality. A separate 2023 thread produced the same one-line verdict: DLB in Litchfield is great. The handful of platform reviews line up with that. A 2023 Google reviewer describes having their driveway widened and repaved and singles out the leveling and pitch and the molded curbing, adding that Dana and Ellen are easy to work with; another 2023 reviewer says DLB paves all their commercial properties throughout the state. The Better Business Bureau grades the company A+ and lists paving, asphalt, seal coating and driveway sealer among its services. Two things are worth raising before you sign. Price is the recurring caveat rather than quality — the commenter who rated DLB top for quality also called that tier of company pricey, while saying the work lasts, so get the quote in writing and ask what the extra buys. And the company's own website presents it as a BBB-accredited member in good standing, while the bureau's own file shows the A+ grade with no accreditation; that is a small thing, but it is the kind of claim worth confirming directly with the BBB rather than taking from the site. The review count here is thin — two reviews on file, both from 2023 — so the confidence comes from independent New Hampshire homeowners naming the company in recommendation threads rather than from volume. That makes it a reasonable call for a southern-NH driveway or a commercial lot where durability matters more than the lowest bid. Ask for a written scope covering base preparation and pitch, confirm the price against a second quote, and ask the Bouchers directly about the accreditation line on the site.
“DLB in Litchfield is great”
“We hire a lot of paving work in Southern NH. DLB is at the top of the list for quality. Tate as well. Pricey but lasts. Most of the other companies are owned by the same families and their work seems not to last very long.”
“Same here…DLB was great to deal with. Stan’s would be at the other end of the food chain”
“I had 5 or 6 companies come give me estimates last summer for my driveway. DLB Paving in Litchfield was the best one, in my opinion.”
Highly recommend DLB Paving. We used them to widen and repave our driveway. They did a fantastic job, especially with the leveling and pitch, and the molded curbing too! Both Dana and Ellen are easy to work with. The only thing to keep in mind, and this is for any paving job with any contractor, timing of the project will all depend on the weather. It didn't matter to us because we weren't in a hurry, but if you want your driveway done by a specific date, plan accordingly by giving yourself extra time to get the job done, in case you get a run of rainy days. Call DLB now to get that new driveway you've been wanting!
