I hired Dan at Downeast Painter to paint my kitchen cabinets. He did an amazing job. The cabinets look amazing and he got my input at every step of the way. He also did the project on-time and on budget. He confirmed when he was coming and when he was leaving for the day. Furthermore he is just a lovely person to work with. I have already recommended him to all of my family and friends in Maine. I highly recommend hiring him for all of your painting needs!
I first saw the quality of Dan's work over 8 years ago when he was a unit owner in my building. Not only did Dan do a wonderful job renovating his own condo, but he also replaced several basement windows, rebuilt the exterior alcove on the front facade of the building, etc., etc. Recently, I hired Dan to replace several boards in my roofdeck. Naturally, his work was great. In short, Dan is the ideal tradesman: he is skilled, intelligent, personable and very funny.
Second time using them. Both times went great. This project replaced two windows and exterior trim. He was done in a couple hours. Work looks great!
Excellent Job repairing and painting water damaged ceiling. Great cleanup when he was done. A pleasure to do business with him
I have had the pleasure of working with Dan to upgrade two entrance doors in our home. The previous doors were old, drafty, and not up to fire code. Dan worked diligently to upgrade our doors - which was not as easy as just updating the door since our home was built in the 1800's and the door frames did not accommodate the size of the modern steel doors needed for fire code. Dan thoughtfully and carefully crafted a door frame for each of the new doors - and worked to address various little aspects that arose once the projects started (you never know what can of worms you're opening up in an old home like ours!). Dan was extremely communicative about his process and reliable in his timing, thoughtful about our home, and masterful in the crafting needed for the upgrade. He also spent thoughtful time painting the doors and affected walls once the upgrade was done. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for his services. We will work with Dan again as we continue to make improvements in our home.
