A 2026 customer said they had discussed re-insulating their attic for $8000, were told on the install date they had to clean and remove old insulation themselves, and canceled after a sales rep named Chuck brought up a cash under the table deal. A 2024 customer said their basement was spray foamed and it did literally nothing for their home, and that a manager later told them the new solution would cost an extra 7 thousand dollars. A 2023 customer said the company had been back 3 or 4 times to redo its work after heat spots showed up on the roof, and that compound was left all over their ceiling and doorway molding. A 2022 customer said the install went fine but the office took months to produce an itemized paid invoice for an Energize CT rebate; in an update, that customer said Keith from sales helped partially resolve it and they ended up with $1074 of the anticipated $1693 rebate. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0623351, as expired, held by Dr Energy Saver Connecticut LLC.
Ian and Jasmine were great. They were extremely patient and thorough and made a huge difference in our home. It was a pleasure working with them
Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this company. Will NEVER refer this company to anyone. Sales guy lied to get a commission. We spoke about re insulating my attic for $8000. When the install date came. I was told I had to pretty much clean and remove old insulation myself. And everything we agreed upon was not being done After contacting sales rep name chuck. He stated that I better have cash so me and the Forman can work out a cash under the table deal. I immediately canceled after almost getting scammed by these guys. This is bad business and scary to see the scams that this company’s employees throw on people. Who’s knows how many people get tricked and lied too for a sale with sketchy back door ethics
Just don’t. You can find someone better. Honestly all the signs were there that I should have pulled the plug before it started it was foolish of me to continue. I was supposed to have half my house filled with blown in insulation. The other side was an addition and spray foamed by a real company but didn’t do blown in for the 40 year old side. So I hire this place whose main company basement did some work for me and that part went well so figure why not. So for the start a guy named Johnny showed up who was the main guy of the crew. Very rude guy. And upfront said if things were in the way they don’t fill those area and don’t say anything just move on. That should have been where I hit the breaks right there that the guy was openly telling me he doesn’t do the work and doesn’t say anything. Also we needed pictures of the holes and the blown in insulation in to show for energize ct credits that this company also advertised and said the guys on the job take the pictures. He refuses. Says it’s not his job. Again should have backed out right then. I called the salesman who is really no help. He says Johnny is taking the pics currently but the guy is in front of me saying he won’t. Job proceeds on and I’m not there 24/7 I’m working and had a guy who was doing a plumbing job for me there scratching his head about these guys but he couldn’t watch them either he had work to do. The second day crew were actually really good. Different people and very friendly and I’m watching him take the pics and send them to me no problem. This crew did the garage and main floor the second day while Johnnys crew did the 2nd floor the first day. Now let’s fast forward to the present. A room on the second floor which never warmed up i decided to open up and see what else we can do. And look at the picture. Only three of the bays had blown in insulation in the whole room and the bays weren’t full. The one to the right is just debris from the one next to it. A hole is supposed to be cut in the bottom and top of a bay. Only the bottom was cut and wasn’t even filled half way up. The rest of the bays empty. No holes were cut into the empty bays they just skipped over them. That’s the story of the entire second floor. One or two bays half done then 5-7 skipped. Explains why he didn’t want to take any pics he just wasnt going to do the work to have the pictures taken. And he had a crew there so all are guilty. I had a quote from good life energy and man I wish I just went with them. Like I said the second day crew was good. But it’s a roll of the dice whether you’ll get scammed. Just go elsewhere and know the job gets done
Every first week of the month I get a nice little reminder about how foolish I was to trust dr. Energy saver, as I make a payment on my personal loan i took out to get work done. Now I’ll say I’m at fault to some percent for for not doing a little more research and just taking the word of two snake oil salesman. I had my basement spray foamed. Two seperate salesman promised it would be the ultimate solution. It did literally nothing for my home. The work itself just looks like stoners did it cause.. well that’s what they were and that’s no judgment. Just don’t expect experts in the field to be doing great work. My favorite part was when I eased my mind thinking I had a lifetime warranty to fall back on with emails from salesman saying I’ll be taken care of for life.. which is a big relief knowing how much it cost… to then have the big manager come In and shrug his shoulders as he told me he’s sorry his salesman were wrong.. then proceeded to tell me, the new solution would cost me an extra 7 thousand dollars! I contacted a lawyer who definitely thought I had legs to stand on in court but obviously there’s no promises and I’m an average Joe that can’t afford legal representation for an unknown amount of time in court. So in the meantime I get to make payments on a loan that is absolutely useless to me. Luckily I work with the public so the only thing I can do is warn as many people as possible to stay away from dr. Energy saver. If I save one person the headache it’s a job well done to me.
Do you like doing your own home repairs? Do you like the aggravation of having to constantly call a company to get them to complete their work? If you do this is the company for you. This company has been back to my house 3 or 4 times as of right now to redo their work. When they first came out things appeared to be good until winter came and I noticed heat spots on my roof. The work was warrantied so they came back out to fix their work. The second time they came out they stated they used the wrong insulation and added more... But did not remove any insulation. The problem was still not fixed and I was still getting the heat spots on my roof. They then came out a third time. They again added more insulation. They left my house a complete mess. Their is compound all over my ceiling and doorway molding. They have no intention of fixing my ceilings and my roof still has hot spots. They are completely unprofessional and unwilling to fix their mistakes. I would never recommend they to even my worse enemy.
