DSJ Landscaping and Hardscaping works out of Ocean Street in Marshfield and is run by owner Jose DeSouza — 'Jose' and 'Aggie' both turn up by name in customers' reviews. The company was incorporated in June 2022 and carries an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, though it is not BBB-accredited; its own website says it has been doing gardening and landscaping in Marshfield and the surrounding region for over 15 years. What people hire them for splits three ways. The first is routine yard work — cutting and mulching beds, pulling overgrown shrubs, fall cleanups. A June 2026 reviewer had them cut and mulch beds and remove overgrown bushes and said the yard looked great, adding they had also used them for fall cleanups and snow removal. A 2023 customer described the crew doing both yards and the flower beds and being cleaned up and gone in a couple of hours. The second is winter. In February 2026 a homeowner wrote that the crew plowed and shovelled their walkways three times through one storm and were careful where they put the snow on a small, tight driveway. A 2023 reviewer who was on the plow list said Jose came out the same weekend to quote a spring cleanup, came in below what a different company had charged the year before, and did the work that same day. The third is heavier ground work: stone walls, walkways, retaining walls, irrigation and drainage. In April 2024 a repeat client described a driveway with bad drainage and nowhere to turn a car around being rebuilt to their brief, after interviewing — in their words — many contractors, landscapers and masons without getting a workable solution. In March 2026 another customer had them put a six-foot vinyl backyard fence back up after half of it came down in the blizzard. On Nextdoor in July 2026, a Marshfield neighbour answering a request for a landscaper wrote that DSJ's guys did great work on a similar job and gave them exactly what was asked for, while others who looked at the property wanted to sell $30–50k of work. Two things are worth pinning down before you sign. The website's 'over 15 years' and the BBB's June 2022 incorporation date do not describe the same span, so ask which applies to the crew that will be on your property. BBB also records one employee where reviews describe a team, so confirm who actually does the work and that they are insured for it. The public record is deep for a young company: a 5-star average across 43 Google ratings and 31 written reviews running from 2022 to 2026, the most recent in June.
