E&V Masonry is a family-owned masonry, hardscape and landscape contractor based in Clinton, Massachusetts, run by father-and-son team Evandro Rodrigues Sr. and Evandro Rodrigues Jr. The company's website says it was founded in 2003 while also claiming over 26 years of experience, two figures that don't quite line up, and it states it serves a wide swath of towns across eastern Massachusetts as well as Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Reviews from 2022 through 2024 are detailed and consistently strong: homeowners describe a retaining wall rebuilt without needing a permit (with the crew flagging that up front, which checked out with the town), a chimney repair paired with a relaid brick path and a small retaining wall, a backyard patio and outdoor kitchen praised as worth paying more for, and egress windows cut through a finished basement. Several reviewers specifically credit the father-and-son team with clear communication, thorough cleanup and finishing a project on time and on budget, and multiple people say they've hired the company more than once. A more recent review, from May 2026, is a sharp exception: a homeowner whose general contractor brought E&V in for pool-area concrete, fencing and stair railings says a roughly two-week job stretched past four weeks, that the crew was hard to reach and often worked short days, and that the finished quality was poor across the board. Anyone hiring E&V for a substantial hardscape project should ask for a firm start-to-finish timeline given that most recent account, but the years of specific, detailed praise before it suggest it may be the exception rather than the rule.
Evandro and Lucas were contracted by our GC for three parts of a project in our backyard: extending the concrete surround of our pool, installing a fence around the pool, and adding railings to the stairs down to the pool. This project was supposed to take 1-2 weeks but it has taken over 4 weeks. Evandro and Lucas are extremely hard to get ahold of, not showing up when they say they are going to, and only saying when they will show up after I ask them. When they do show up they work very short days, often less than 4 hours. In terms of the work performed, the quality was poor across the board. The concrete that was poured does not match the color of the existing concrete at all, and the new concrete is not the same color throughout. I was not informed until after the pour that they 'could not' match the new concrete to the existing concrete. Regardless, the new concrete has a lot of variation, with some parts much lighter or more brown than others. When I asked Lucas what happened he said that the brown area must have been where we let leaves rot (even though it had been 24 hours at this point and no leaves were sitting on it). Furthermore, when they were done with the concrete there was standing water along the bottom of the retaining wall after light rain. I had to point this out and Evandro claimed that this was not an issue but it is definitely not good for the retaining wall long-term. They drilled some drain holes in the concrete and filled them with gravel, which did take care of the standing water problem. When digging holes for the fence around the pool Evandro did not confirm where we wanted the holes and dug the holes in a different spot than what we had discussed during the estimate. After telling him that the holes were in the wrong spot he did fill them in and dig holes in the correct spots. When the railings arrived and were installed there was damage along the top on 5 of the 6 railings where the coating had come off and the underlying metal was already beginning to rust. When I pointed this out to Evandro he claimed that the railings came damaged and that he did not damage them. If that were the case, he should have returned the railings and obtained new, undamaged ones. He returned and put some paint on the railings, but I am not sure if it was regular spray paint or a paint made for metal to prevent additional rusting. When excavating the gravel for the concrete they gouged a fence post with some machinery and did not own up to it until I pointed it out. I had to remind them several times that they needed to sand it smooth. When using the machinery they created muddy tracks in our lawn and did not offer to remedy this with grass seed. I asked them to put down some seed to repair the damage and they seemed surprised by this request. Evandro did return and put down some grass seed by throwing several handfuls in the general direction but did not put seed on all the areas of the lawn that they damaged.
Eduardo And Victor did an absolutely fabulous job of repairing my drywall and painting, and the cleanup. I would hire them again for sure
Very beautiful work! I can't use words to express my gratitude to E&V masonry’s hard work and dedication! Evandro and Lucas are very good communicators. They just try their best to meet your expectations. I also need to mention that their website is super nice and very well designed. You can pay with your credit card or Apple Pay on their website. Many thanks to the Dad, brothers and other team crews, Great work! Highly recommended 👍
They did a backyard patio for me along with an outdoor kitchen that came out amazingly. They weren't the lowest bidder but they were worth the money because of their amazing craftsmanship and communication. The workers cleaned up after themselves and once the job was finished everything looked pristine.
We had a great experience with E&V Masonry! Our previous front yard wall was collapsing and E&V rebuilt it passed our expectations. They did such an exceptional job and we could not have been more impressed with their work. We are looking forward to using them again in the near future.
