Eden Landscaping and Snow Removal is a landscaping and snow removal business. In a 2022 Google review, a customer who had used Eden for snow removal for the 2020-2021 winter season without issue said that in the 2021-2022 season Eden never dispatched a team for the first storm and, on the third day, said it was not coming at all for that storm. That 2022 review also said that for the second storm the contractor came only once, did a single pass through the driveway with a plow, did not shovel the sidewalks, and charged double.
We hired Eden to remove snow from our large 10+ car driveway and long sidewalk (we are a corner plot). I used Eden for snow removal for the 2020-2021 winter season without issue. Assuming the same quality of service, I hired them to perform snow removal for 2021-2022 winter season. Pricing and automatic dispatch was setup in the fall in anticipation of the season's first storm. For the season's first storm, Eden never dispatched a team to remove snow, nor responded to emails/requests for snow removal on the day of the storm and the day after the storm. On the second day after the storm, they blamed covid and a shortage of crews but said they were working on it. On the third day they said they were not coming at all to remove snow for this storm but that for all storms for the remainder of the season would be discounted by 10% due to this issue. For the second storm of the season, Eden notified me via email on the morning of the storm that due to the size of the storm, prices may rise by 30-60% due to the size of the storm (some may know this tactic as price gouging). Despite this last minute email, 3 major issues occurred: 1. The contractor only came once towards the end of the storm (in prior seasons, the contractor would come 2-3 times during large snowfall storms) leaving of sidewalk and driveway un-passable for a full day. 2. The contractor only did a single pass through the driveway with a plow. Drive never got out of the truck, never cleared around the 10 cars we have and did not attempt to shovel the sidewalks. 3. Ultimately Eden charged us DOUBLE for this service. Contractors are required to submit photos of their work and you can clearly see that the driver did not do the work required. I disputed the snow removal (standard feature of Eden) but I have not had any productive conversation with them on the matter. The CEO will not respond to my emails (one employee claims he no longer works for the company). I will be filing claims with my CC company and the BBB to attempt to get resolution to my issues. As you can imagine I have tried to cancel my service with them but my account still shows active on their website/app and with very little communication coming from them, I'm worried they'll keep charging my CC whenever they want.
