A call at 3:00 in the morning about water in the basement, and Kris was at the house within an hour: in a June 2025 Google review, the customer wrote that he traced the water to a source above rather than the ground, left 2 large fans to dry things out, came back two weeks later to repair the ceiling he had opened — and did not accept any compensation for it. Empire Construction Waterproofing is an Oxford company whose website says it has 20 years of basement waterproofing and foundation sealing work; it holds 5★ from 22 Google ratings. Kris is the name customers write about. An August 2026 review says he finally made a basement water free, waterproofing a vertical crack and coming back to check that everything had settled. In a December 2025 review, a customer said his proposal skipped the expensive extras 2 other companies had included, his estimate was spot on, and he went on to set up a dehumidifier and rebuild their dock. An October 2025 reviewer described him coming the day before a house closing to price a wet basement so it could be negotiated, and later checking an odor without charging for the visit. A February 2023 Angi review says the sump wells went at the base of the foundation, and an October 2021 customer reported no water in the basement after severe rain. The work goes beyond basements: an October 2025 review describes land clearing and excavation for a 12000 gallon pond, and in November 2024 a customer said Kris removed approximately 80 tons of gravel a storm had washed onto their lawn and pond. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0★ from 15 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. The website offers free estimates and says the company is insured. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0651979, is active.
Great work! We have always had water in our basement due to our deck and Kris was able to finally have us water free. He took the time to inspect the entire home and waterproofed a vertical crack we found. He came back to make sure everything had settled properly and our propane tanks were leveled. We look forward to using him for future projects.
I had a great experience with this basement waterproofing company. They were professional, arrived on time, explained everything clearly, and did an excellent job fixing my basement. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable waterproofing services!
Kris is one of the best contractors we have ever used. He provided us with a detailed explanation of our problem when we had water issues in the basement. His proposal did not include a lot of expensive extras that 2 other companies had done. His estimate was spot on and there were no additional expenses. Since we had the basement waterproofed we hired Kris for two more projects. The first to set up a dehumidifier to keep the summer humidity down in the basement and second, to our surprise, he took on rebuilding our dock. Again his estimates were right on the mark. One of the best things about Kris, he shows up when he says he is going to show up and there were no delays in any of our projects, he finished on time. I would recommend Kris to anyone who needs help waterproofing their basement and if you have another sizeable project ask him, we were glad we did when it came to our dock.
I have been working with Chris and Empire for years. I found them when the apt I was renting flooded and the landlord wouldn’t come fix it properly. Even though I wasn’t the owner, Chris came and looked at it and it was his professionalism and knowledge that made my landlord listen. When the landlord didn’t take care of the drain, and the basement flooded again, Chris came right out and fixed it. Then when I moved into my house we found water in the basement on the final walk through the day before closing. Chris came right away and gave an estimate so I could negotiate it into my closing. It was awesome. Ii had an odor in my basement and thought it was the pump or water was getting in again. Chris came right out and found it had nothing to do with the pump. I called the plumber and head right. He didn’t charge me for the visit- didn’t try to make money off of it. His work is done with excellence, and he and his crew respect your space and don’t leave a mess. If there’s an issues he comes right out- really stands behind his work, and is HONEST. I wouldn’t go with anyone else. He’s saved us on several occasions now.
Great experience start to finish! They waterproofed our basement and fixed a foundation crack that was leaking for years. Super professional, quick, and neat work. No more water issues! Highly recommend!
