Empowered Electric, LLC is a one-man residential electrical shop based in Loudon, New Hampshire. The company's site says it is owned and run by Derek Ambrose, a fully insured master electrician, and that it covers Loudon, Concord and the Lakes Region. The work it advertises is residential: service calls and troubleshooting, wiring for new construction and renovations, custom lighting, standby and portable generator installation, and — with an EPA 608 Universal certification it states on its own site — ductless mini-split heat pump installation. The public record is small. Google publishes a 4-star average from three ratings, and all three written reviews are on file. In a December 2023 review a homeowner described years of lights dimming when appliances switched on, and said Derek traced it through careful testing to a loose connection in the house grounding system and repaired it. A February 2023 reviewer praised punctuality, knowledge and being walked through the alternatives before choosing. The one negative is recent and is about how a quote was handled rather than the wiring. A June 2026 reviewer says he felt pushed toward a mini-split during the quote visit, and that after he accepted a different bid he received an invoice for work done during that visit which he had not asked for. Agree in writing what a visit will cost before anyone starts touching anything. On credentials, the master electrician claim is the company's own. New Hampshire licenses electricians through the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification, and this profile has not checked the registry, so confirm the licence and the insurance directly before hiring. A reasonable call for a small residential job in the Concord and Lakes Region area, particularly diagnostic work or a generator hookup — with the scope, the price and the licence pinned down first.
“If you ever need an electrician I'd recommend Derek ambrose with empowered electric.”
Seemed knowledgeable, but did not listen to my requests and tried to sell me on a mini-splitter aggressively when he came over for a quote. When I took another offer instead of his, he sent me an invoice for the tinkering he did (without me asking) during the quote. Probably does a decent job, but I was not impressed with the customer service at all to say the least.
For years, lights in our house have tended to dim when certain appliances were turned on. I thought this was normal until I checked the voltage at our outlets and found it to be very inconsistent. I called Derek, who went though a careful troubleshooting process that led him to a loose connection in the house grounding system. He quickly repaired it, and our lights and voltage are perfect now.
Derek is top notch in every way. On time, super knowledgeable, awesome communication and presentation of alternatives so you can make an informed decision. So glad to support this young man in his successful business. We need more in the trades like him!
