Four Star Lighting and Electric is the Lowell electrician people keep on speed dial for years. One Google reviewer in November 2025 had used them for every remodel since 2014 with Curt Julian as the electrician on each; another in July 2025 called them the go-to for seven years on an old Victorian multi-family with a carriage-house office; a 2024 customer put it at almost two decades. The company describes itself as a second-generation, family-owned shop with more than 50 years in the trade, working Lowell, Dracut, Tewksbury, Andover, Wilmington, Woburn, Medford and out to Waltham and Lexington. Its Massachusetts and New Hampshire electrician licences, held by Joseph A. Silverio, are both active on the state registries, and BBB grades it A+. The jobs described range from a Tesla charger in Wilmington (September 2025, the reviewer noting they explain options rather than upsell) to a 2022 whole-house modernization — complete rewire, new panel, new lighting — and security-camera wiring by the same customer. Smaller calls get the same write-ups: a 2022 closet-door switch with an electronic control unit that Michael diagnosed and solved with a workaround when the replacement part did not match, basement outlets added and a circuit box tightened to stop intermittent dimming, a parking lot relit in January 2025. A July 2026 Somerville Redditor said they had good experiences with the company. Two things to know. The 2022 whole-house customer said plainly they are not the cheapest, though worth it. And the only low mark, a one-star in May 2026, reads simply "bad drivers" — a comment about the road, not the wiring. A solid choice for a rewire, a panel, an EV charger or a stubborn fault across the Merrimack Valley and northwest of Boston — ask for an itemized quote up front since the pricing runs above the low end.
