Fox Forestry

In a September 2024 Google review, a customer who had already gone home to the Midwest described hiring Fox Forestry to remove two large oak trees and other trees that had become hazards at their seasonal camp, plus some clean-up. There was a miscommunication with the crew, and the work scheduled and performed came to considerably more than first discussed. Mr. Fox called, took full responsibility for the miscommunication, finished the job, sent an album of photographs and invoiced per the original estimate. Fox Forestry is based in Orland, Maine, and describes itself as forestry and land management for landowners, municipalities and businesses. Its site says it has been in business 30 years, is insured, offers 24/7 emergency service, and lists a service area running from Orland and Ellsworth to Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Deer Isle, Camden, Islesboro and North Haven. In December 2023 a Google reviewer wrote that after a big storm the company came over within an hour, gave a reasonable quote and came back the same day to cut down their trees. A February 2024 reviewer wrote that Tom and his team were responsive and that a downed tree was taken care of in no time. A July 2026 customer has used Fox Forestry for both firewood and wood chips and mentions good pricing. The company also sells sawmills. In a November 2021 review, a buyer who drove in to pick up a Logosol F2+ wrote that Lewis showed them around the mill and gave tips, and in an April 2022 review a buyer praised the sales and shipping staff after an F2+ arrived the week it was ordered. A November 2021 one-star review describes a B1001 sawmill delivered with a crate of parts for the smaller B751, a lengthy return process, and an incorrect bill of lading from Fox Forestry; that reviewer wrote that Tom Fox argued about the missing parts and claimed B751 parts were universal. On Google it holds 4.7 stars from 29 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+.
