Franklin Adams Carpentry says on its website that it has been in business for 18 years. On its Houzz profile, in the business's own words, it calls itself a start to finish builder. It holds an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. A 2025 Google review says Franklin agreed in 2023 to do the roof on a home in Lyndonville, VT, came out to do an estimate, and required a starting down payment of $4200. That 2025 review says that when the start day came, he first said he was 2 weeks behind schedule and then that he was waiting on good weather. The same 2025 review says the dates he offered never happened and he stopped communicating, and that the reviewer asked a number of times for him to do the job or return the start payment.
Franklin Adams is a crook! I met Franklin at the home depot in Littleton NH in 2021 where we exchanged in friendly conversation. I was in the process of remodeling my home in Lyndonville VT just over the boarder from NH. He gave me his card told me he did a number of different general contracting services including roofs. I later called him in 2023 to see if he was interested in doing my roof and he agreed. He came out to the house and did an estimate and said he could take care of it in October of 2023. We ordered all the material to get the job done in October. He required a starting down payment of $4200 and would take final payment after completion. Start day came and so did the excuses. First it was that he was 2 weeks behind schedule. Then it was he was waiting on good weather after he said that he would even take care of the job if he had to shovel snow off the roof to do the job. After a few more conversation with him about how he was going to fit me in on certain dates that never happened he stopped communicating. Now after a number of requests to come do the job or return my start payment im at this point of writing bad reviews. Do not trust this man. He will tell you that no one can beat his prices, but you end up paying for no work completed.
