George The Painter works out of Natick, and the calls that keep coming are for painting jobs that need to be done right the first time — interior rooms, whole-house repaints, cabinetry, even a built-in bar unit painted and stained to double as a real bar counter. George Kracher III runs the business himself and, according to his own site, is on site every day until a project wraps. The written record is short but consistently strong: seven reviews across Google and Houzz, every one of them five stars, running from 2015 through 2024. In a 2024 Google review, a customer called him "one of the best painter you will find" for taking pride in his work; a year earlier, another described a bar-unit repaint — dark wood turned green, plus a stained butcher-block counter — calling the finished piece beautiful. Most of the specific detail comes from an older run of Houzz reviews written between 2015 and 2017: homeowners describing full interior repaints across multiple rooms, a master bath and closet addition finished in two days, and repeatedly a crew that leaves a house cleaner than they found it. One 2017 review noted his work held up better than a previous painter's, even at a higher price. Houzz also lists an EPA RRP certification for lead-safe renovation practices, and the Better Business Bureau gives the business an A+ rating — it isn't a BBB-accredited business, but that's a status a company opts into and pays for, not a reflection of complaints; BBB shows none on file. Worth asking about before booking: Massachusetts' registry shows his home improvement contractor license, #180793, has expired. The number matches what's listed on Houzz, so there's no confusion about which license it is — it's simply not current, and it's worth confirming his standing directly before signing anything. It's also worth knowing that most of the detailed, specific accounts of his work are from nearly a decade ago; the two most recent reviews, from 2023 and 2024, are shorter than the older run. For a straightforward interior or exterior repaint, or a cabinet and built-in refinishing job, the track record here is a genuinely positive one — just confirm the license is current and ask for references from recent work before signing on.
One of the best painter you will find. He takes pride in his work!!
George did a superior job painting a built-in bar unit for us. He was quick to get back to us with an estimate, gave us a fair price and was prompt each day to work on the project. He also kept his working space and our home very clean and neat, which we greatly appreciate. The cabinet was originally a very dark wood, which we updated to a painted green color. The quality of the work is fantastic and it looks beautiful. He also stained a butcher block counter for the bar unit, which also looks great and also can be used as a true bar counter. George was a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend him!
We hired George to paint a new master bath/closet addition that we put on our home. George responded quickly to my call, came over promptly to review the project and provided me with a very thorough and reasonably priced quote. The job included a lot of patch work over nail holes as well as painting both the walls and ceilings. He arrived as scheduled with an assistant and they were able to complete the job in just two days. Best of all, they did a perfect job! George was professional, reliable and friendly and I would definitely recommend George in the future.
George was great to work with. He was friendly, flexible and professional. He and his team painted two rooms and some single walls inside our home, as well as the exterior dormers. Everything looks great and is holding up. We had used a different local painter for some work in the past, and George's work is far superior, definitely worth paying a little bit more. He was great with my 2-year-old son who was fascinated by his big truck and the work they were doing, and even gave him a paintbrush so he could pretend to be painting along with "Painter the George." We are very happy with George's work and will definitely hire him again should any future needs arise.
We hired George to paint the entire interior of our house (two floors, walls, trim, and ceilings): three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, hallways. From the very beginning of our interaction, George was flexible and professional. He went out of his way to accommodate our schedule for an initial consultation, and during this walk-through, George was helped us to understand the full scope of the project and additional work that we could do to make the paint job even better. His estimate followed in a timely manner, and when we ultimately hired him to complete the job, he was again flexible with timing. He showed up on time every day and worked diligently to keep the project on schedule. He and his assistants were respectful of our space, moving and returning furniture and keeping the rooms clean. He was also very accommodating of our cat and did not mind that she remained in the house during the two weeks that he painted. We strongly encourage anyone looking for a painter to consider hiring George. We would certainly hire him again!
