Got Sun Go Solar puts solar arrays on homes, and the company says on its website that it has been in business 17 years. Its Massachusetts construction supervisor license, number CS-091168, is active on the state registry, held by Ronald A Bennett. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 180717, is expired on the state registry. On Google it holds 4.4 stars from 30 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A+. A 2023 customer said larger companies pushed leasing and power purchase options, while GSGS explained the options with their upsides and downsides, beat the bigger companies' price, and installed on a third story roof, with the system running within a couple of months. That 2023 customer also had GSGS install a Sonnen Solar battery. A 2023 customer said Ron made a site visit and recommended adding panels to the roof of a storage shed/boat house, and the job added 6 panels to the shed and 2 to the east roof of an existing array. A 2023 customer with a flat rubber roof said other vendors begged off, but GSGS, which also does roofing, discussed the engineering and electrical details and the installation was smooth. A 2023 customer said Keri, the administrative assistant, had SolarEdge diagnose a malfunctioning inverter and ordered a new one, and their electrician Jake swapped it out. A 2023 customer had an 18-year-old 4 kW system removed and reinstalled after new roof shingles went on. A 2025 customer said prices were fair and they were given options and the education to make a decision. A 2024 customer said two young men with little to no experience finished the installation, the electrical inspection failed, and after the system stopped working it went months without running until the customer paid an electrician $700 to install a new inverter. That 2024 customer wrote that they had been told 90 percent of their bill would be covered, and that they submitted a claim with the attorney general. A 2024 customer said the company contracts out all of its work, its contractors were late and not organized, and parts and pieces were left around the property. A 2022 reviewer who said they did an install for the company in River side RI wrote that Ron used commercial grade panels on a residential home and did not pay them in full.
Their prices were fair and working with them was very easy. They gave me options and the necessary education to make an informed decision.
Sales is this company's main focus. They are a federal energy grant harvesting operation, who contracts out all of their work. Over promising and under delivering. If you pay them before the work is complete, you will receive less than satisfactory service. Their contractors are late, not organized and do not fulfill their promises. Check your property for all the parts and pieces they will leave around. Do not do it. There are better installers in RI. Lesson learned.
One star is to much!!! October 23 2018 a crew showed up to start installing panels the next day it snowed Feb 19,2019 a crew shows up with the main installer on the ground in a sling directing two young men with little to no experience to finishing installation this was the first 🚩 inspection of electrical fails due to panels second 🚩 finally three months they are running. We were told 90 percent of our bill would be covered that was a LIE! Fast forward to May 26, 22 my solar stops working I get my electric bill in June my bill is $800 I do have a pool and ac I call Ron leave messages get no where finally three months August 26,22 he shows up he has a list of items the the converter company has required to determine the cause of the solar not working let’s just say he did not do the requirements needed this is three months of no solar with a crazy high electric bill he could cared less I finally had enough of his non knowledge and finally got the inverter company to send a new inverter had to wait three more months for it to be shipped finally dec14,22 after paying an electrician $700 dollars to install a new inverter my solar was up and finally running again. We were promised 90 percent of our bill would be covered and lap was suppose to have a 15 year warranty don’t even make it 4 years without issues still have an average on the low in $300 a month and has been as high as $500. Not an honest company I have submitted a claim with the attorney general that is a slow process Please BEWARE
I had Got Sun Go Solar remove and reinstall my 18 year old 4 kW Photovoltaic system after new roof shingles were reinstalled. My system will continue to generate clean electricity for another 18 years thanks to their excellent work. I highly recommend them.
I contacted GSGS after speaking with several vendors who were mostly interested in getting panels on my roof without explaining the details of the available programs or the system. They all begged off when I mentioned that I have a flat (rubber) roof. GSGS also does roofing so were not fazed by my flat roof. And they patiently discussed the engineering and electrical details of the system with me. The installation was smooth and we have had no issues to date. I highly recommend them.
