Green Abundance By Design is a Framingham ecological landscaping company founded by Andrew Whittaker, specializing in something most landscapers don't: invasive plant management. The company removes bittersweet, knotweed, buckthorn, poison ivy, and swallow wort, and designs and installs native meadows and pollinator gardens in their place, serving towns from Concord to Dedham to Marlborough. The written record is deep and unusually specific — 60 reviews from 2022 through 2026 — and a huge share of them describe multi-year relationships rather than one-off jobs. A convent reported hiring the company to tackle invasive species across 35 acres of grounds; a farm described the team clearing dense invasives across several large areas while carefully following instructions on what to remove versus preserve. Residential clients repeatedly describe watching a yard transform over two or three years, from an invasive-choked property to a native meadow or woodland garden, with project manager Mike named again and again for detailed, proactive communication — proposals with links and resources, texts before a crew arrives, and follow-up to confirm satisfaction. Two accounts from 2024 stand apart from that pattern. One reviewer described an unprofessional initial consultation with owner Andrew after running a few minutes late for a scheduled meeting. Another described a slow, unclear intake process after inquiring about invasive plant removal, involving repeated requests for photos and measurements. Both are isolated in an otherwise consistent five-star record, including reviews from both before and after that period. Green Abundance is a strong, well-documented choice for invasive plant management and native/ecological landscaping specifically — a genuinely different specialty from conventional lawn care — with the caveat that the two 2024 accounts suggest it's worth confirming scheduling and intake expectations clearly up front.

We have used Green Abundance for three years now to help with invasive plant management in our yard. Mike and his team are super knowledgeable and I've appreciated learning more from them about what species we have and how best to deal with them. We have a lot of yard, and problems with TOH, black swallow-wort, burdock... pretty much all the bad ones. The treatments done are making a noticeable difference, and the teams who have come to do treatments are always on-time, polite, friendly, and efficient. Mike is also great about answering questions via email. I would recommend them to anyone who needs yardwork, but especially if you need help with pesky invasive weeds that won't die!
Very easy to work with and they did a really great job with our invasive weeds in our front and backyards. I'd definitel work with them again!
Green Abundance by Design is a wonderful company! Excellent and comprehensive attention to detail on our issues with invasive plants on the property, including knotweed. Their communication is unmatched and they are encouraging of and patient with questions. I love their walk-through videos identifying all the species on our property and the treatment for each. Really great experience working with them - highly recommend.
We are extremely happy with the work we just had done to help manage our invasive species. After watching the invasive plants take over for 5 years we knew we had to do something soon. They were extremely thorough and pulled a forest of buckthorn from our property, and killed swaths of bittersweet, poison ivy and Virginia creeper. Not to mention all of the invasives I hadn’t even noticed! Our woods and property have never looked better and we are looking forward to letting the natives breathe and thrive. Michael did the initial visit and he was knowledgeable and helped work with our budget. This is not a budget service by any means but I feel it is worth the expense, especially after watching the crew hand-pull seedlings I would never even have spotted! They know what they are doing and we’re very happy with the work!
Everyone we worked with from Green Abundance was super friendly and knowledgeable, and their work really transformed our outdoor spaces. If you care about the impact of landscaping on our environment / need professional management of invasive plants, Green Abundance is the only way to go. I will be exclusively using and recommending them for any landscaping projects going forward. Great experience all around!
