Grocare Management is a Newton-based commercial cleaning company that describes itself as owner-led: founder Edgar Escobar and Eddie Escobar, its finance director, are the two people it names as running the accounts. The company says it started in 2012, that Escobar came to the United States and worked his way up from mopping floors over a 30-year career in the industry, and that it has deliberately refused to franchise so it keeps direct oversight of its crews. It describes itself as a family and minority-owned business. The work it advertises is janitorial and custodial rather than household: daily disinfection of high-touch surfaces, deep cleaning, floor care, consumables management and porter services for private schools, corporate offices and places of worship. It names Waltham, Cambridge and Boston as its roots and Portsmouth and Providence as newer territory, and it states it carries an ISSA CIMS Green Building certification with Honors, uses Green Seal and EPA Safer Choice products, and follows OSHA procedures. All of the above is the company's own account of itself — no customer reviews or independent records were found for it, and its Google listing carries none either. If you are a homeowner rather than a facility manager, ask first whether it takes residential work at all; if you are hiring for a school or office, ask to see the CIMS certificate and the insurance and bonding it says it holds.
