Betsy Stanley's outfit works the way small paving companies used to: she turns up, quotes it on the spot, and the driveway is often finished the same day. Her Asphalt runs out of Ipswich and covers the North Shore — driveways, walkways, parking lots, sealcoating, patching, dig-outs and line striping, residential and commercial. The company describes itself as female-owned and operated, with Stanley a third-generation paver carrying more than a decade of hands-on experience. Thumbtack lists it as four years in business with ten employees, and shows a background check completed for her in July 2024. Speed and price are the two things customers name. In 2026, one homeowner asked for an estimate after spotting the crew working on their road and got both the quote and the job the same day. Another said Her Asphalt came in with the best quote for a driveway and walkway. A business owner writing in August called the work quality and the pricing both strong. Back in 2022, a HomeAdvisor customer paid slightly more than three competing quotes and said the service justified it: an all-female sealing crew arrived on time after the promised 30-minute notice, equipped to start immediately and see the job through. A 2023 Thumbtack reviewer said Betsy was still answering questions a year after the work was done. Durability gets a mention too — a 2024 Angi customer said the seal coating was standing up well and the patch at the end of the driveway came out smooth. The one bad account is worth understanding before you call. In a 2023 Angi review, a landlord whose tenant's moving containers had left dents in the driveway said the roughly $400 sealcoat they bought did not fix those dents. Sealcoating is a coating rather than a resurfacing, so if your driveway has dents, depressions or cracking, ask straight out whether the right fix is a sealcoat, a patch, or a dig-out — and get that answer written onto the quote. The other thing to note is how jobs often begin. Several 2026 customers were approached by Betsy at the door or while she was paving nearby, and the work was done that same day. Those customers were pleased, but it is a pattern worth slowing down for: settle the scope, the asphalt depth and the price on paper before anyone spreads material.
