Herzog Landscaping says it has been at this since 1989. The Hingham company works the South Shore out of PO Box 307, naming fifteen towns it covers — Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Norwell, Duxbury, Hull, Milton, Marshfield and the Weymouths among them. Breadth is the striking part. The hardscape side runs to patios, paver installation, retaining walls, custom fire pits, outdoor kitchens and fireplaces, water features and brick masonry; the maintenance side to mowing, seeding, aeration, fertilization, hedge trimming and mulching; and around both, irrigation installation and repair, landscape lighting, planting, tree work and grading. What there is none of is a customer's account. Its Houzz page states plainly that no one has reviewed it yet, and the whole picture above is the company describing itself. That suits a homeowner who wants one crew for both the build — a patio, a wall, a lighting run — and the upkeep afterwards. Since the page carries no reviews, ask for addresses of recent jobs in your town and photos of finished hardscape before you commit.
