In an October 2026 one-star Google review, a customer wrote that a kitchen remodel in a 10x10 kitchen with an island, which they expected to take no more than three weeks, took Home Solutions, the Fort Kent remodeler, over a year, and that they are out $30,000 for a kitchen that looks worse than the original. The same customer wrote that a worker told them he had never done drywall finishing before, and that when they raised it with Curtis, he sent the same worker back to fix it. A tile came up two years later, and they found drywall patch had been used to secure it. The measurements were off, an interior wall had to be cut out to fit a cabinet, and the crown stuck out an inch from the wall. The Kemper cabinets had problems from the start, and the warranty was activated when Curtis had the Kemper rep out. Home Solutions stored the product in the customer's home for over six months, and when it came time to install the crown molding, they could not find it and accused the customers of stealing it. The reviewer also wrote that they were billed by the hour for workers on site, including four people sent on a day when only one was needed. In a January 2025 review, a general remodeling contractor from central Connecticut wrote that Curtis and his crew from Home Solutions worked with him on remodeling a friend's house in Madawaska, Maine, a project he described as about 85 percent finished. Home Solutions holds 3 stars on Google from two ratings.
This review is a long time coming. I'll try to make this short. This is my experience. We hired them for a kitchen remodel in a 10x10 kitchen with an island and we went with Kemper cabinets which i highly suggest you really think twice before going with this brand. This project that should take no longer than 3 weeks took them over a year. The workers they had at the time were unqualified for the tasks they were given. Things like drywall finish where their own worker tells me they have never done it before. When brought up to Curtis he sent that same worker to try to fix the problem they couldn't do in the first place. The "tile" work they did for us on just one tile came up 2 yrs later where we found that drywall patch was used to secure the tile. ALL the measurements were off in some way, resulting in the cutting out of our interior wall to fit the cabinet and the crown sticking out an inch from the wall. The Kemper cabinets had a problem from the beginning so much so that when Curtis had the Kemper rep out they activated the warranty. Now mind you, the cabinets hadn't even been completed yet. Three years later. Still look very bad. Home solutions used my home for thier storage of the product that was supposed to be installed in my kitchen for over 6 months. We complained and after another month sent 2 guys to pick up the crown molding because they were unable to get the right cabinets, in the same color. Literally for over a year. Still like that. Then finally when they finished the kitchen and needed to install the crown they couldn't find it and had the audacity to accuse us of stealing it. They do not honor their word or the product they sell. They wouldn't even give us the contact info for Kemper cabinets and there is no way to contact them. I have tried. We are out 30k for a kitchen remodel that looks worse than the original kitchen. Also, you pay for the hours that his workers are on site. If they are messing around or take a long lunch or leave early, YOU as a customer, needs to keep track because you will be charged. We were. We were also charged for them sending 4 people when only one was needed for that particular day. You as a CUSTOMER will pay for those standing around as we did. There are limited options up here but as a customer who used this place I feel you should be warned. Kemper cabinets is not a brand I can recommend and neither is Home Solutions from my year long experience with their staff, and employees which changed several times over that year. In the end, we spent 30k and got an inferior product and Home solutions who told us they would take care of it, did not.
I am a general remodeling contractor for central Connecticut. A friend asked me to help remodel his house in Madawaska, Maine; obviously it’s a long ride and I was not going to be able to complete it without help from local contractors. Curtis and his crew came in and worked with me. The project is about 85 percent finished and I can’t say enough about Curtis and his crew from Home Solutions. I feel that this is a partnership for both projects and friendship that will last a long time. Thanks to the entire crew at Home Solutions!
