Hometown Lawn & Property Service describes itself as a lawn-care business serving Western Massachusetts. In a July 2024 Google review, a neighbor of a customer alleged that an employee trespassed on their land, urinated in a protected wetlands area in plain sight, and responded rudely when confronted. The reviewer said they called the office and the owner, but received no solution beyond an apology.
This is absolutely shameful! My neighbor uses this company and I caught one of their employees tresspassing on my land. In addition to tresspass this guy was relieving himself in a protected wetlands area about 20 ft from the road -in plain sight! When I confronted this guy about exposing himself on private property he copped an attitude and acted like I was in the wrong for interrupting his leak and should just stop bothering him. He was so rude and gave me the middle finger when I went to check his truck and see what company he worked for. Like, on what planet is OK? The audacity is just incredible. Literally anyone driving by could've seen what this guy was doing... kids could've seen. This is actually a great example of what not to do as a landscaper; you should seriously be ashamed. Keep a spare bottle, ask your client to use the bathroom... almost anything is better than the decision that was made here by this guy. Obviously, I called their office to complain and even called the owner of this company to personally explain how unbelievably offensive this was. Unfortunately, there were no solutions offered beyond an apology. In fact, I got the impression they didn't actually care much and even tried to undermine the seriousness of the actions. It is completely ridiculous that this even happened and really gives Hometown Lawn & Property Services a bad look. Considering the owners response when I called, it would not surprise me if nothing is done and the employee is left to do as they recklessly please. My advice to you is don't bother with these guys and go find another, more accountable company to service your maintenance needs. One that trains courteous and responsible employees that won't disrespect your neighbors or their property.
