Imperial Landscaping

Three of the five reviews Imperial Landscaping has drawn in the past six months are one-star, and all three are about snow. That is the tension running through this company: the lawn and cleanup work reads well, and the winter work is where people get angry. George is named in review after review as the person who runs the crews. The company's own site pitches it as "Commercial Landscaping & Snow Removal, Elevated", with a section aimed at property managers and operations out of 916 Pleasant Street in Norwood and 169 Clay Pond Road in Bourne; it lists SIMA membership and says it works from Lowell to Taunton and Bourne to Provincetown. Homeowners hire them anyway — a good share of the reviews are plainly residential. On the maintenance side the praise is specific and it repeats. A homeowner writing in June 2026 said they have handled the lawn for years and stay responsive. In a March 2024 review, a customer described heavy boulders removed and a short trench dug near their pool. Writing in January 2025, another credited George from estimate through follow-up on a yard neglected for years, and in February 2025 someone with a fractured leg said one phone call got them shovelled and plowed out before the storm was over. Snow is the other story, and it is current. A February 2026 reviewer described crews arriving at midnight well after storms had ended, a loader crashed through a garage door, snow dropped from buckets onto cars, and damaged sidewalks and curbing. In March 2026 another said they were plowed in rather than out for two days, with snow piled into the street. A May 2026 reviewer at a condominium said crews began mowing at 6:30am and destroyed plantings in areas marked not to touch. Older complaints follow the same shape: in December 2024 a neighbour said leaves and dirt were blown across their porch and into an open basement window and never cleaned up, and in an October 2022 review a homeowner said a historic front rock wall was left unfinished after the crew removed what they had asked to keep. One more thing worth knowing about the numbers: the stars are almost entirely fives and ones, so the 3.7 Google average describes nearly no one's actual experience. Pin down who will be on site and when, get the snow scope in writing — response timing, where snow gets piled, who answers for damage — and be explicit about anything you don't want touched. For mowing, mulching and cleanups on a property you can keep an eye on, several customers have come back season after season. For a winter contract, ask for references from this past season specifically.
