Interior painting is the steady work here. A 2025 customer said Gary and his crew painted their living room, kitchen and dining room, including walls and ceiling that had not been painted for years, and said they were very pleased with the results. A 2022 customer said they painted the interior of the home, installed recessed lighting, and removed and prepared the cabinet over the refrigerator. That 2022 customer said each person cleaned well after they finished. A bathroom job went worse. A 2025 customer who needed a bathroom redo down to the studs said Gary prepped the walls for tile around a new tub quickly and had a plumber come in for the toilet and new sink. That 2025 customer said the tiles his tile guy set were uneven, one redone tile was cracked after he left, three tiles by the door had to be removed and replaced, and the grout went from no space to a wide line. The same 2025 customer said the floor grout started cracking 6 months later; Gary came to look and agreed to redo the grout, then had not returned their calls in 3 months. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0659273, held by GM BRY-REN JAMES, is active on the state registry.
We needed a bathroom redo, down to the studs. Gary worked quick and efficiently prepping the walls for tile work around a new tub. He had a plumber come in to do the toilet and new sink. So far so good. Then his tile guy came. He brought along two other men that just hung around. As he started the back wall, it was immediately noticeable that the tiles were uneven. One tile was directly on the tub and the others were spaced as should be. Though he argued that it was fine we had him redo that tile and after he left, it was cracked. Had to redo again the next day. By the bathroom door he didn't measure properly and didn't go all the way to the trim. So had to remove and replace 3 tiles. Sure it now went to the edge, but now the tiles were not level with the other tiles. We also had him redo the grout in the bathroom because it didn't go to the edges of the tiles. When you look at the grout work, it goes from no space between the tiles to a wide grout line. 6 months later the grout on the floor started cracking and also noticed cracking of the grout on the corners of the room. Keep in mind that this is a bathroom we seldom use. We called Gary, he came to look at it and agreed to redo the grout but haven't heard from him in 3 months! We've called numerous times and he hasn't returned our calls. Every time I walk in that bathroom, I feel hugely disappointed with the tile work and the amount of money we spent. We are talking about 1' X 2' tiles, not small tiles. We had another bathroom done by another company 7 years ago. Tile work was and still is perfect. They unfortunately. retired. We tried holding off on writing a review hoping that Gary would follow through but now when Gary isn't returning our calls and standing behind his work, we feel that if you are having any work done, you might not want to use this company. From mixing the grout in my dining room, making a mess on my hardwood floors, getting grout on my floor, uneven tiles and uneven grout and not having some edges looking finished and now having our grout cracking we are not happy. We hired a professional. Instead it looks like amateur hour. Very disappointed.
We had Gary and his crew paint our living room, kitchen, dining room, etc. This included walls and ceiling that haven't been painted for years. Gary's work is flawless, he pays great attention to detail. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend his services.
They painted the interior of my home, installed recessed lighting and removed and prepared the cabinet over the refrigerator. Not only was the work quality, each person cleaned well after they finished.
