John C. Pratt Company has installed acoustical and drop ceilings around Rochester, New Hampshire since 1964, working mainly as a subcontractor for other contractors on commercial, industrial, and institutional jobs alongside residential work. A 2021 New Hampshire Business Review article described one such residential job: the Healeys hired the company to put in a basement ceiling, work that took a few days. A homeowner writing a 2024 Google review told a similar story, saying everyone — the estimator, the installer, and the office staff — was wonderful to work with, and calling the finished basement ceiling amazing. The Better Business Bureau rates the company A+, though it isn't BBB-accredited and has no published reviews or complaints on that page; its file there dates back to 2000. The company's own site describes itself as family-owned, founded by John C. Pratt, Sr., and says it employs 13 full-time field workers who average 15 years with the company, plus four job supervisors and one delivery and warehouse employee. It also lists Armstrong's Approved Inner Circle Contractor status, an accreditation tied to the ceiling-tile manufacturer. There's only one customer review so far, so it's worth asking for a few more references directly — but for a basement ceiling, or as a ceiling subcontractor on a larger project, the company has a long, specific history in the trade.
“The Healeys hired John C. Pratt Company of Rochester to do the ceiling in their basement for a few days this month.”
We needed a ceiling put in down in our basement. Everyone was wonderful to work with from their estimator, to the installer, to the woman in the office. The ceiling is amazing, and I can’t recommend them enough!
