JUNKAWEIGH, LLC hauls junk in Waterbury, CT, and its website says it takes both commercial and residential jobs. A recent customer donating a queen bedroom set, a heavy dresser, a tall chest, a glass and metal office desk, and a kitchen table and chairs to Goodwill of CT wrote that a husband and wife team, Orlando and Cherie, handled it with just two people. That customer said they were quick and careful of walls and doorways. A 2024 customer said they came the next day at 8am and cleared a sofa bed that was too heavy to move out of the garage in less than 20 minutes. A 2025 customer said a sofa was removed with no fuss, at a much better quote than other area businesses gave. In a 2022 Thumbtack review, a landlord said Orlando removed trash and furniture a tenant left in front of the house, arrived on the scheduled day and cleaned everything up. A recent customer who booked through a third-party platform said Orlando arrived and said the cost would be double the original quoted price for items on the third floor, then canceled the order without saying anything. That customer said later calls were ignored and the number was blocked.
I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience and would not recommend this service. Orlando was assigned through a third-party platform. Before scheduling, I sent photos of the items to be donated and specifically confirmed with a representative that they were located on the third floor. When Orlando arrived, he told me the cost would be double the original quoted price. It appeared that he had not reviewed the information or photos that had already been provided through the third party. I explained that I had already disclosed the location of the items and had confirmed everything in advance. He told me he would be right back, went downstairs, and instead canceled the order without saying anything to me. If he was unwilling or unable to complete the job, a simple conversation would have allowed me to contact the third-party company and find another solution. Afterward, I called him several times to understand what had happened, but my calls were ignored and my number was ultimately blocked. That level of communication was extremely unprofessional and left me without any explanation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Orlando or his company.
I had my doubts when just two people showed up full size queen bedroom set with a heavy dresser and tall chest, a glass and metal office desk, and a kitchen table and chairs, for donation to Goodwill of CT. I thought it would take a team of 3, but the husband and wife team, Orlando and Cherie, were incredible. They were quick, careful of walls and doorways, and amazingly strong. LOL! I give them a 5-star rating for promptness, skill, consideration, and cost. Thank you both.
On time; professional; got our sofa removed with no fuss. Junkaweigh gave us a much better quote than other area businesses. I suggest you let them give you a bid. Highest recommendation.
Today Orlando and his wonderful helper removed junk from our home. They were very timely, personable and meticulous with the removal of the furniture. We will definitely be calling them back upon the sale of our home for the other items remaining. I highly recommend them. Their prices are very reasonable. Keep up the good work.
