Key Electric is a licensed Norwell electrician — its Massachusetts electrician license (3279) is verified active — that's built its reputation almost entirely around one thing: getting a home generator running again, fast. It's a certified Generac dealer, also certified by Kohler, Champion, and Briggs & Stratton, and per its own site also does general electrical work like panel upgrades, wiring, and EV charger installs. Across seventeen Google reviews running from 2023 through this year, two names keep coming up: technicians Patrick and Bill. Several customers say they followed Patrick from a previous generator-service company after it was sold — in a 2024 review, one called him "the best generator tech ever" and now sends Key Electric all their referrals. The responsiveness shows up in specific moments: in a 2023 review, a customer describes losing power at 5:45pm and having a Key Electric employee drop off a loaner portable generator within the hour; in a 2024 review, another says Patrick came out at 7:30 on a Friday night after a text, then returned with owner Sean the next morning to finish the fix. A different 2024 review describes Patrick and Bill showing up within 30 minutes for a generator throwing an error code, after every other company the customer called was booked out a month — and fixing a wiring issue the original installer had missed along the way. The everyday jobs read the same way: a 2024 review describes a same-day annual service visit that was "way overdue," handled thoroughly with the charges explained upfront, and a 2024 review of a standby generator install describes the crew walking the homeowner through picking the unit, its placement, and how to run it. There's no negative review on file. The one real gap is that the record leans almost entirely on generator work — someone hiring for a bigger electrical project, like a panel upgrade or an EV charger install, would be relying on the company's own description of that side of the business rather than reviews of it specifically.
I have a very long story about my generator living directly on the ocean. Key Elec is the absolute best, ask for Patrick.
Phenomenal! I have a 2018 Generac, that I was looking to have serviced. I called and spoke with Patrick on the phone who answered all of my questions and took the time to explain their process and charges. For today's appointment Bill showed up right on time and got right to work. Watching, I couldn't believe how thorough he was! He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. Patrick showed up as Bill was finishing and by the time the two of them left, my generator looked brand new! I have confidence that my generator is ready for another year.
I was having trouble with my portable Generac generator. Bill and Patrick were awesome! They solved the problem quickly and were so nice! I would use them again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!
We have used Patrick to install a generator for us and he was excellent and extremely helpful. We l have used Marina and the electrical aide who also was great. We plan to use the company again. Thank you for your work!
Key Electric was a life saver for us! They came out in a hurry to get our generator running after noticing it wasn’t doing the weekly test and a red light was displayed on the unit. Their knowledge, professionalism and the ease in which the repair was made is unmatched by anyone else. We couldn’t be happier with Key Electric and know you will as well.
