Lawn Love isn't a single crew — it's a nationwide dispatch platform, now part of LawnStarter, that matches homeowners with independent, background-checked lawn care pros, including here in the Boston market. The company says it was founded in San Diego in 2014 by Jeremy Yamaguchi and has been run by LawnStarter, under CEO Steve Corcoran, since a 2021 acquisition. Whoever shows up to mow a given lawn depends on which pro the app assigns that week, and that model shapes almost everything reviewers say about the experience. On the numbers, the platforms look strong: 4.7 stars from 189 ratings on Google and 4.1 from 191 on Thumbtack. The written reviews back that up more often than not — homeowners repeatedly name their assigned pro (Adrian, José, Joseph, Markese, Maurice, Corey and others) for careful mowing, tidy edges and easy communication through the app, and several say they've kept the same pro for months at a stretch. The flip side of the matching model is the recurring complaint. A few reviews describe an assigned pro simply not showing up — one from 2023 says three scheduled windows were missed with no refund, a 2024 review says flatly "they never show up," and another from 2024 describes being charged before any work was done and getting no response from support. A 2026 review is still tracking an unresolved bill after an assigned pro damaged a septic vent pipe on the property. Reddit commenters elsewhere have made similar complaints — one described a $300 charge for lawn work never finished, another said a "pro" claimed a job was done when it wasn't — though none of them place the incident in the Boston area specifically. For routine mowing and yard cleanup, most reviewers who've used Lawn Love come away satisfied with whichever pro they land, and the app makes booking and rescheduling simple. Worth asking up front: what happens if the assigned pro doesn't show, and how a billing or damage dispute gets resolved if a job goes wrong.

“If you’re in one of the 80 percent of American households that have a lawn, chances are that you either take care of mowing and upkeep yourself, or you have hired a local lawncare provider you’ve found”
very efficient. Yard looks really nice. Also weed eated the yard.
Adrian was really helpful and friendly, love how easy the app make it to communicate with the person that will take care of you, and the prices are really good too 👍🏻
Consistently great work! I couldn’t have done it better myself!
Fantastic serves by José. Love the service all around great product thank you very much.
The service is good if you can’t find or don’t have time to find a local company in your area. The first pro they found was awful but lawn love refunded me and found me a new pro. It’s been a few weeks and the new pro is good. The app makes it easy to communicate and reschedule as needed.
