Long Home Products sells the kind of job you sign for in your own living room - a new roof, a tub-to-shower conversion, replacement windows. One January 2023 customer's bathroom quote came back at $37,000; another 2023 reviewer listed a $39,000 job. The Taunton branch carries an A+ grade at the BBB and has been accredited there since January 2022, and its BBB page lists a construction supervisor licence and a home improvement contractor registration for the company. The install crews get the praise. In December 2021 a customer watched the roofers work all day harnessed in and called the finished roof tight and well ventilated; another that month noticed nobody on a phone and nobody fooling around. A November 2021 shower customer changed their mind mid-job, had a seat added, and the installers were out in under six hours. Even the 1.5-star reviewer of May 2024 called the crew hard-working - their complaint was a shower wall that was supposed to be extended four inches. A good share of the five-star Angi reviews are about the sale rather than the finished job. More than a dozen customers wrote in June 2022 naming the same consultant, Chris Reynard, and a November 2023 customer said plainly that the shower had not been installed yet, so they could not speak to the work. What goes wrong goes wrong after the crew leaves. A July 2023 customer said a two-day job ran eight days, that a water line was damaged along with the ceiling below it, and that a requested $2,000 credit was settled at $1,000. A May 2023 tub-to-shower customer had the main work done in two or three days, then waited on the final plumbing inspection with a patch still on the wall and calls going largely unanswered. A June 2023 roofing customer had nothing bad to say about the roof itself and a great deal to say about the service around it. A June 2022 customer called the whole thing a terrible experience, having hired Long because it said it could complete the job including the plumbing. The platform averages stay high - 4.7 from 154 ratings on Angi, 4.5 from 21 on HomeAdvisor, 4.7 from 2,179 on Best Pick Reports. For a roof or a bath conversion where you want crews, financing and a written warranty behind the work, this is that kind of company. Before signing, get the punch list, the final inspection sign-off and the name of the person who handles callbacks written into the contract - that is where these jobs turned sour for the people who complained.
