Nearly every review of Long Home is about the salesperson. Across 2,838 Google ratings averaging 4.7 and 2,179 more on Best Pick Reports at the same 4.7, the recurring cast is Jerry, Tom, Thalia, Darren, Skylah — the rep who came to the house, explained the product, and left. That is the shape of this company: a large, appointment-driven operation running out of 300 Myles Standish Blvd in Taunton, carrying an A+ and accreditation at the BBB. When the crews show up, the work reads well. A homeowner in April 2026 whose insurer had flagged a 25-year-old roof said the old one was stripped and replaced in a single day, with the crew picking debris out of the shrubs and off the pool cover. Another in May 2026 had a shower installed in two days with no mess left behind. A July 2026 customer working on a house built in the 1930s said unforeseen problems were handled with an explanation at each step. And when a finished roof job left nails and debris in an attic, the company sent someone out to vacuum it — the customer said in May 2026 that settled it. The complaints are consistent enough to plan around, and 13 of the last 68 reviews are negative. The loudest theme is the phone: an April 2026 reviewer said the calls ran 15 to 25 a day after repeated do-not-call requests, and a July 2026 reviewer said just setting up the appointment was painful. The second theme is same-day pricing. In March 2026 a customer said a quote near $30,000 came with $5,000 off only if signed that day, and competing quotes later came in around half of Long's best number. A February 2026 customer said the price walked down to $14,000 for an acrylic tub and walls, and the install left two scratches. Even a five-star reviewer in June 2026 warned that the commit-now price does not survive the salesman leaving the driveway. The third is what happens after signing. A July 2026 customer said a tub-and-floor job started on July 7 was still unfinished on July 27, with "the parts haven't arrived" as the only update. A March 2026 customer lost contact with the rep who sold the job and had a start date moved without notice. A May 2026 one had a portapotty sitting on the lawn for weeks and a deck still broken. Worth calling if you want one company for a fast roof or a tub-to-shower conversion and you are comfortable negotiating. Line up competing quotes before the appointment, refuse the sign-today deadline, put the completion date and punch list in the contract, and check the Massachusetts registration yourself — the numbers on its BBB page are that directory's listing, not a registry check.
Tried to set up an estimate with this company and they asked me if somebody else was on my mortgage and I honestly answered them no and then they sent me to another scheduler who said I see another person on your mortgage and I said well he’s not there anymore and they said that they needed a reason why he wasn’t on the mortgage before they came out to give me an estimate. I’ve never felt so discriminated in all of my life. It is none of anyone’s business why I hold my mortgage by myself and they lost my business for life.
They were faced with unforeseen issues due to my parents home being built in the 30’s. They took care of everything and let me know what was going on every step of the way! Every person I dealt with from beginning to end were all very professional I would recommend them to anyone thinking of doing a bathroom conversion. May thanks for everything, it was a great experience.
If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Just the initial appointment setup was painful. I told the AI agent, who sent a new text message every 32 minutes, if I didn’t respond, exactly what we were looking to do. Even though it was already attached to the Angi project I proposed. The rep who called to make sure the appointment was allset and the person who called to verify/confirm the appointment (all with 1 hour of each other) that I am the homeowner, and no one else needed to be involved in the quote. They looked up our info using an online tool and knew my husband and I both own our house. They requested that my husband be home. I told them multiple times, at least 8 different times, my husband didn’t want to be involved, we would go through the quotes we were considering together, as married people do. They showed up at 10am, 2 sales people in unmarked mass plate vehicles, asked if my husband was joining us, I told them no he was at work and that I had made this very clear to multiple people. Their response was absolutely ridiculous, well we will need to reschedule. My response: don’t reschedule I am the homeowner and do not need my husband to be present, we are not signing anything today merely just collecting quotes. They seemed surprised that someone would have multiple quotes. Made a comment the the person who makes the financial decisions needs to be present. I asked them to leave. They stood outside my house for 11 minutes after that. what a terrible experience. If the roles were reversed and my husband wanted to get a quote, and I wasn’t present they would move along providing a quote. I find this company to be unprofessional, sexist and extremely misogynistic. This isn’t 1940, we both contribute to the household, work and make the financial decisions.
I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by this company. The project began on July 7, and the scope of work was simply to remove the old bathtub, install a new one, and replace the flooring. This was not a full bathroom remodel. However, as of July 27, my bathroom is still not completed. I have made several attempts to get updates on the status of the project. I called Patricia, the inspector, but have not received a response. I also contacted Nate, who answers my calls, but every time I ask for an update, I am told that the "parts haven't arrived." Unfortunately, I have received no proactive communication, no email updates, and no clear timeline for when the work will be completed. To make matters worse, the glass shower doors that were installed are leaking significantly, causing water to spread across my bathroom floor.doors are not efficient at all The flooring itself has not even been completed, making the situation even more frustrating. At this point, 21 days have passed, and the project is still unfinished despite the fact that this was not a complete bathroom renovation. What has been most disappointing is that the company was very efficient when it came to collecting the down payment and quickly arranging financing. However, that same level of efficiency has not been reflected in the quality of the work, communication, or project management!!!! Based on my experience, I would not hire this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.
Response to my requesting a proposal was immediate and very professional. An on-site meeting provided a review of top tier 50 year shingles and matching underlayment and flashing system materials from Certainteed. Joshua, the pre-sale contact was top notch and I enjoyed discussions with him. For other reasons, I went with another roofer.
