Thirty permitted jobs on the books, and the biggest of them is a $951,589 electrical service for Milton's new fire station — this is a SouthCoast shop whose work runs well past the average house call. MAK Electric works out of Dartmouth. The company says Marc Frey started it in 2014 after finishing the electrical program at Greater New Bedford Voc Tech and working jobs including Boston Logan Airport, and it names him as president, owner and a licensed master electrician. It lists Dartmouth, New Bedford, Westport, Fall River, Somerset, Swansea, Fairhaven and Mattapoisett as its service area, says all its technicians are OSHA certified, and pitches commercial tenant fit-outs, generator installation, new construction and round-the-clock service. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade, though it is not accredited. Google shows 4.8 from 12 ratings, and the written accounts run 2021 to 2025. What comes through is a company comfortable at both ends of the scale. A June 2025 reviewer praised consultations where "they do not oversell" and said small residential problems get the same care as the large commercial projects; another June 2025 customer had used them for everything from commercial to residential and said the crews work clean. A 2021 homeowner said Marc assessed the situation and had electricians on site the next day. The one complaint is about money. In December 2024 a customer who called the office manager and technicians excellent still held back stars over the bill, saying $160.03 charged for "Fuel and a 10% mark-up" was excessive and asking the company to revise its pricing. Ask what gets added to the labour before you sign. Worth checking yourself: BuildZoom lists an active Massachusetts Electrical Business licence for the company plus an electrician licence numbered 21721, and separately shows a master electrician entry for that same number whose last verified expiration was July 2019. Those are the directory's records, not a state confirmation — the Board of State Examiners of Electricians can tell you where things stand today. Good call for commercial fit-outs, generators and new-construction wiring around the SouthCoast, with the estimate and any add-on charges pinned down first.
“Mak Electric, LLC – North Dartmouth, MA - $11,000”
“Marc was very professional, prompted and assessed our situation and had his electricians out the next day.”
MAK Electric’s expertise and honesty is evident during a consultation, especially when reviewing estimates. They do not oversell. I appreciate that they can handle small residential issues and give it the same care and attention as one of their large scale commercial projects. I do not hesitate to recommend MAK Electric for my clients , family and friends!
MAK and Marc Frey do terrific work, are very diligent in responding to inquiries, and operate with the utmost professionalism. Have always had great experiences with them.
Marc and his team are extremely responsive and work very clean, we have used them for an array of projects from commercial to residential.
Marc and the team at MAK Electric are amazing! Their attention to detail and professionalism are top-notch. They take the time to get everything right and make the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!
I really wanted to give a five star review, but I can't. The office manager and techs are excellent. My problem is with the amount charged. I realize that all businesses have expenses and must make a profit. I don't expect anyone to work for free. The $160.03 that was billed for "Fuel and a 10% mark-up" is excessive. I hope that MAK revises their pricing strategy.
