Massad & Sons describes its work as asphalt paving, patios and walkways, retaining walls, and concrete installation. A 2024 customer said Fran Massad and his crew tore up a driveway, installed drainage piping, and laid stone before winter; the customer reported no pooling through the wet winter and said the completed driveway looked nice. A 2024 customer said Fran had previously repaved a driveway and added drainage, then delivered the promised irrigation work and patio after a move to a new house. A 2023 customer said the work included a retaining wall, paver walkway, small patio and driveway paving, and called the price fair. A 2022 customer said Fran removed two wooden retaining walls and replaced them with block walls, working with the customer to make one level usable in a pool area. A 2023 customer said Fran kept to his quote and praised the finished driveway. A 2024 customer, however, said a $24,000 basement quote was 60% higher than four competing quotes and objected to his attitude and remarks about the other companies. A 2022 customer said a replacement driveway developed tire marks and lost its top surface despite waiting three weeks before driving on it. That 2022 customer said children's shoes stuck to the asphalt on sunny days and that, when contacted, he blamed the heat.
Very professional and at the same time polite and helpful...a good listener to our project needs. DILIGENT! contract down payment work done in two days communication and final payment... excellent service quality workmanship and his team is very courteous kind and respectful
Our driveway has been a thorn in our side for years, ever since homes built uphill created a water issue in our yard/driveway. We had so much water in our driveway that it was a tremendous hazard every winter (and the damage done to our driveway was only getting worse). After consulting with more than one company, we decided to hire Fran Massad after he thoroughly explained his plans for drainage and repair. Fran and his crew tore up our entire driveway, put in an extensive amount of piping for drainage, and completed the first layer of stone prior to the winter. Despite a lot of rain during the 2023-2024 winter season, our driveway appeared to be draining properly and we had zero pooling of water in any areas. While the entire driveway was not completed prior to winter, we were able to see that the drainage plan Fran put in place worked well and it was an excellent test of quality. We were pleased. In May of 2024, the driveway was completed and, though we are only 5 days in from having the driveway in place, we have very high hopes that Fran and his crew took great care in completing the project with the same quality and care as the December work that was completed. It looks nice, no water issues to speak of at this point in time, and Fran is a nice "no nonsense" guy to work with. His crew is also very polite, clean (always cleaned up after themselves each day) and detail oriented. We're grateful to have a quality driveway in place for the first time in years! We're looking forward to finishing off the landscaping and putting this project behind us.
Fran has done several projects for us over the past decade. About ten years ago, he repaved our driveway and added a drainage system under it. He and his crew completed the work reliably and well and it was a pleasure to work with Fran. So when we wanted irrigation work and a patio built after a move to a new house, we called Fran once again. We spent considerable time discussing the water problems in our yard as well as the layout for the patio and Fran 100% delivered on what he promised. He was always available for texts or calls to discuss troubleshooting or solutions. If I ever have another project that requires irrigation, paving, or building a patio, Fran will be the first person we call!
Quote came back 60% over 4 other quotes I got for a very simple basement poor. I suggest price shopping this guy. Spent time telling me how he thinks all 4 of the other quotes wouldn’t do good work and I Should watch. That’s a red flag. He kept saying how much Labour it would be and how Many men he would need but all the other companies said it would be a two day job with the right machine. Maybe he just doesn’t have the gear and I get that, but it doesn’t Make up for his poor attitude. I’m sure he does good work but after a $24,000 quote (8k then the 2nd highest) it seemed like he was just trying it on. Iv done about 5 other similar jobs and have NEVER seen a price like that. Last summer I did and area a little bigger and it was stamped, graded, and sealed and it was 6k. It came out wonderfully but the company I used isn’t local.
Fran gave a quote and stuck to it and did a great job. Not only was he the cheapest, he gave a us a perfect driveway and didn’t hold back on the quality.
