McCourt Construction is a Boston heavy civil contractor that's stayed in the same family for five generations — the company says it was founded in 1893 and is now run by brothers Ryan, Matt, and Trevor McCourt, building infrastructure, energy, and design-build projects across the Northeast. That kind of tenure doesn't automatically translate into a deep public review history. McCourt shows only 11 Google ratings, and just four written reviews turn up across five sources going back to 2022 — thin for a company its size. The handful of reviews skew mixed: alongside brief praise sits at least one detailed, serious complaint about quality and oversight on a job, and an account that specific carries more weight than a short five-star note ever could. The Better Business Bureau lists McCourt with an A+ grade, though the company isn't a BBB Accredited Business. Trade directories like the Blue Book have carried a listing for McCourt since 1991, pointing to a long-standing presence in the industry rather than a fly-by-night outfit — but neither substitutes for a real body of customer reviews. Before calling, it's worth asking directly about the scope of work McCourt actually takes on: the company's own site frames it around large-scale heavy civil, energy, and infrastructure contracts rather than smaller residential jobs, so confirm upfront whether a project fits what they typically do. Given the thin review count and the seriousness of the one detailed complaint they've received, it's also worth asking pointed questions about site oversight and how they'd handle damage to existing utilities before signing anything.

Work in beverly ma 201 e lothrop attempting to excavate flow fill. This is basically concrete that was poured on top of our 12 inch water main 5 feet away from your conduit. Complete lack of oversight basically stopping our progress. Worst workmen ship i have ever seen. 6 feet thick at least 100 feet long. Also it was well known we were replacing this main. Day 2 at 201 e lothrop flowable fill is at least 8 feet outside your scope of work feel free to stop by we will be here for a few days trying to get through this disaster
